April 29, 200719 yr I don't recall ever posting about my honeymoon experience four years ago so I'll do it now. I work for a local airline so I fly for free, we get some good deals through interline mags and such so I set up for a weeks stay in Cabo. Luckily we only need birth certificates back then, no passports, my wife assured me she had the "certified" bc. So we get married on Saturday night, on Sunday we pack and head to her house before attending another party later that day. The only reason we went to her house was for the bc, so she's trolling around looking for the document and she comes back to me with her hospital bc, you know the one with the baby footprints and all. Instead of having our first argument as married folk we thought we'd give it a shot (I knew it wouldn't pass). We had a 7am flight on Monday morning so we headed to the airport with our bags packed (full of shorts and short sleaved shirts), late October when it's cold everywhere in the US except Florida and SoCal, we get turned away at the ticket counter. So I go and pick up a USA Today to view the weather map, I wanted to find some sort of heat and I didn't want to repack. We finally decided on Vegas, can't go wrong there, we'd been there before and loved it so we headed back home until our flight would leave. We go back to the airport at 4pm and don't make the non stop since it's full, end up connecting through Dallas, not too bad but we had a 2 year old kicking and screaming behind us for the first hour or so of the flight. We had dinner at the TGIF's in the DFW airport, watched TO pull out the Sharpie on MNF, and we finally arrived in Vegas at midnight with no reservations, all in all a great trip despite the wife's boneheaded move, I've got to give her props though, she planned the whole wedding and it was flawless. As far as as the money I put towards Cabo, I lost only $50 for the deposit and we used the remaining money for an all inclusive trip to Cancun two years later, that went great except for the WTO invading the city, a total lockdown to all visitors, a few deaths during the protests and a bad case of Montezuma's revenge on the way to the airport (I didn't think I could make it back with a complete colon) and some terrible Mexican techno with ultra heavy bass on the 20 minute ride to the CUN airport.
April 29, 200719 yr Was that before or after Paulina Porizkova was on the cover of the SI swimsuit edition in Aruba? That wasn't Aruba. That was Bonaire and took place two years after our honeymoon. Aruba was still part of the Netherland Antilles when we were there.

April 30, 200719 yr We went to Lake Tahoe. We got married in December so we went snowmobiling, skiing and we took a drive to San Fran. It is beautiful out there and I would love to go out there in the summer time and do some hiking and water stuff.
May 2, 200719 yr Now this is S.E. KY we are talking about. 13 years ago this poor boy and my lovely wife went to the chicken fights. Oh boy was she impressed..I wanted to do something that we would never forget, Now that is original...and the truth! ps. Still married and with 4 girls.....Geez
May 2, 200719 yr We are going to the Grand Cayman Islands in June.:ylsuper: If anyone has been there any info would be nice, thanks! Haven't been there, but been to the Caribbean every summer. We're not in the sun a lot usually, so wife and I invest in a tanning package about two months before the trip. It is a life-saver to prevent a sunburn from ruining your trip (that happened first time). Have fun!
