NamecipS Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Imagine that, the Bengals have 4 of the Top 25...can you name them? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/0704/gallery.nfl.draftbusts/content.1.html
nyrangers Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 I had Ki-Jana and Akili. I didn't think of Klinger although well deserving.\ I am not so sure that there haven't been bigger busts than Peter Warrick. Admittedly he was never as good as we thought he would be but he wasn't awful either. I think Jason Buck was a bigger bust than Peter.:thumb:
bugatti Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 A "bust" list and no Tim Couch? It's a miracle. Give it a couple of hours and you will see many arguments that will easily place him in the BGP top 5 biggest busts of all time.

I don't know if I'd say Warrick was that big of a bust.
HOMELESS CAMEL Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 As I was going through the list, I was wondering if Cade Mcnown would show up. Being a Bear fan, I wouldn't mind having Rashaan Salaam on that list. He had a really good rookie season and then things went downhill after that. I still say that if Tim Couch had a better team around him, he would have done better. I'm not saying he belongs in the Pro Bowl or the Hall of Fame, but I think he could have been a better quarterback.
youknowme Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Tim Couch... In high school...had a good surrounding cast & put up record numbers In college...had a good surrounding cast & put up record numbers In NFL...had a crappy surrounding cast & put up semi-crappy numbers We all know his talent level did not drop that drasticlly from college (when he was in the top 4 or 5 in heisman voting) to the pros.
goherd96 Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Klingler and Akili I can see, Warrick wasn't that bad and Ki-jana was an injury casualty. IMO, a draft bust is someone who didn't produce, not just some guy who had injuries take his ability away... After reading the story accompanying each one, the Bengals got a fifth mention for John Copeland
The Juggernaut Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Wow Charles Rogers is a big time bust... I forgot about him
ochenta siete Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 I was suprised to see P Dub at 25. He produced for the Bengals, I guess just not as much as they thought. After he got hurt, he just didnt have what he used to.
NEERFAN Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 PDub played solid but he's a bust, he was top five pick and never even sniffed 1000 yds.
futurecoach Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Tim Couch... You say the same thing about Ryan Leaf. In high school he did great, in college he did great, but in the NFL he didn't do good at all. So saying well this player did good in high school and college, doesn't mean that the player would do good in the NFL as well. Would Tim Couch have done better with a better surronding cast we will never know. So since we dont know, we have to consider him a bust. Also if Couch was to be so good in the NFL, you would have thought he would have landed on a NFL team by now. He has had chances but yet he got cut in those chances he had. I know he has had injuries now, but I still dont know if we will ever see him play another down in the NFL, and so being a #1 pick overall and never doing nothing and never landing on another NFL team, would mean that you are a bust... (Keep in mind that I am a huge UK and Couch fan, but the fact is he has been a bust for his NFL career...)
NamecipS Posted April 17, 2007 Author Posted April 17, 2007 As I was going through the list, I was wondering if Cade Mcnown would show up. Any players with Playboy connections are instantly excluded from being a bust:D
