buckman41ss Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Highly-regarded prospect DeAndre Jordan will not follow Billy Gillispie to Kentucky, the player's AAU coach said Thursday. Gillispie signed Jordan, a 6-foot-11 center, to play for Texas A&M. When Gillispie took the Kentucky coaching job last week, speculation arose about Jordan following him to Lexington. http://www.kentuckyconnect.com/232/story/40583.html
mobaar Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Definately the most credible source yet on the situation. Oh well. Would've been nice, but I'm sure Billy will do alright.
SuperB Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 I watched an interview with him last night (I can't remember who did it) and he left the door open. He said he planned on staying at A&M right now but he wasn't closing all of his doors.
Pancake Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Like I said on another post on this young man, " I will believe he is coming when I see it."
RockPride Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Don't hate the kid, he is doing the right thing.
LRCW Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Don't hate the kid, he is doing the right thing. :thumb: :thumb: I agree he's doing the right thing, but I'm still of the belief that incoming Freshman should be let out of their LOI if they desire, when there is a coaching change.
mobaar Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Don't hate the kid, he is doing the right thing. He's doing what he wants, which is the right thing. Had he felt he would be better served by attending UK (or any other school), that would be the right thing too.
SouthernSportsFan Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 New News: On Thursday, Jordan seemed to leave the door open to follow Gillispie to Kentucky if that becomes an option. "I can't say, 'Coach, you can take me,' because I don't think that's right for Texas A&M," he said. "If it's my choice to consider Kentucky, then I will."

"If it's my choice to consider Kentucky, then I will." Confusing quote. He's at A&M unless he requests a release. A&M isn't going to release him without his asking for it. Doesn't really sound like he's coming unless A&M ceases to have a basketball program.

Doesn't really sound like he's coming unless A&M ceases to have a basketball program. Yeah, I don't expect him at Kentucky next season, I was just relaying the information. He was also just on WAVE3 and said he would meet with new A&M coach next week. He was asked if UK would be a top choice if he decided not to stay at A&M, he said "it's a possibility."

LRCW Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 I hate this for UK. Don't worry too much. I'm confident the Cats will do just great under Billy G. I'm sure you can sleep well tonight knowing that.
