Well.......this is fascinating. I mean what makes Billy G. better than Tubby Smith? His resume is no where near as impressive as Tubby's is now and is similar to Tubby's when Tubby was hired. Have you guys really watched his team play more than a few times? They are a great defensive team that runs a motion offense.

 

I mean he hasn't been approached by any of the other major jobs open. Now at this point he is I believe the best Kentucky can do but he is certainly not a Top 5 in the country coach. A good coach yes...but great? I guess his reign in Ky. will bear that out.

What other "major" jobs have been open? Almost any other move for him , would be a lateral move.

He's a great recruiter compared to almost everyone, including Tubby. He's had more success at TAMU than Tubby ever had at Tulsa or Georgia. He is one of the best up and coming coaches in the country.

... with a team that was in the top 10 most of the year, over a team that until about a month before the tourney wasn't even a given to make the NCAA. He did what he was supposed to. You guys are gloating before the ink is even dry. :jump:
