April 9, 200719 yr To be fair, he has gotten a very late start in this recruiting period. You and I know this OR, but some people would hold that against him anyway if PP and JL don't come here. Coach G has his work cut out for him. He has a lot to do and very little time to do it. I would hope fans would be smart enough to realize that when thinking of next season.
April 9, 200719 yr Sounds to me like they're not only trying to help the school he goes to, but hurt the other schools as well, because if they wait till mid-May and hold a scholly open, there likely won't be anything left to scoop up. It will never happen, but IMO it'd serve them right if the big names filled their slots and PP ended up playing at some podunk school in low D1. :thumb: He's taking his 15 minutes and trying to stretch it out. Watch and see if the kid is not some kind of prima donna.....
April 9, 200719 yr Bob Huggins @ WV will get Patterson, Beasley will follow, Jai Lucas will end up there also. Neither of these guys would make the grades @ Duke or they would have committed already. JMHO Do you know for an out of state athlete the SAT score for enrollment is higher for a student athlete entering UNC than Duke?
April 10, 200719 yr Is it possible that PP's grades aren't in order? Don't think so. It could be Donovan's finances are not in order as the Grizzlies keep on adding up dollar signs in an attempt to lure BD.
April 12, 200719 yr Still no word on Jai? Darrell Bird said tonight on the Red and Blue Review that "Jai Lucas is a done deal." So basically he's not coming.

April 12, 200719 yr I spit some "Steve Miller" on my laptop...thanks :irked: haha. Sorry about that. I'm a UK fan and always have been but I cant help but smile when I hear "done deal" now. Billy D. made a lot of people look very foolish.

April 12, 200719 yr I would feel better about it if he didn't have a visit scheduled in Gainesville this weekend. I like our chances to get him. I also liked our chances at getting Billy D. I dont put much faith into my gut feeling anymore.
April 13, 200719 yr Per John Clay-- Highly-touted point guard Jai Lucas says now he will wait until after April 21 before making a decision on where he might attend school. The son of former NBA player and coach John Lucas is considering Kentucky, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Maryland and Florida. His father says Jai will make a visit to Florida, which has made a late run at the 5-11 guard.

It would seem the only reason he wants him is to land PP...I would hope he goes somewhere where they really wanted him for his abilities and not just to land the real prize and then they find themselves on the end of a bench for the next 2-3 years. I know I'd like UK to get him because they seriously need a PG. Of course, if that persuades PP to follow, I guess that would be okay too..:sssh:
April 13, 200719 yr ^Because he assumed Taurean Green was staying Yeah, but even if he stayed, it was for only 1 more year...I think it was more because he knew he had Hodge to step in regardless and he'll only be a soph, so, where does that leave Jai.. My guess is to land PP and thats the only reason and Jai will play, but, most likely alot less than if he went to UK...
