July 1, 200719 yr Just back from that disaster. Freebies of course! Well I can now say I have personally seen one of the worst clubs ever. I will give the crowd a small kudos as they let Dunn have it after his 2nd flub in the outfield. Words really can't express what went on down there today.
July 1, 200719 yr I thought he only went 3 2/3. I could be wrong? You are right, he left with 2 outs in the 4th. At least the Reds kept their streak alive of winning just 1 game in a 3 game series, that's something to be proud of.
July 1, 200719 yr IMO Jerry will be fired tomorrow... You and all your INSIDE connections. The best piece of inside info I have is that if you if look hard enough online you will find an answer to just about any question.
July 1, 200719 yr I missed the game today, what was Homer's problem? I heard he didn't break 90 last game, same deal today?
July 1, 200719 yr Author I missed the game today, what was Homer's problem? I heard he didn't break 90 last game, same deal today? His main problem is (and has been all along) control. He's not ready for the big show, but at this point you might as well let him get the experience...
July 1, 200719 yr IMO Jerry will be fired tomorrow...Do you think, the Management has been waiting till the break, for this. Whom do you think, will assume the duties.....Dent or Hatcher? I missed the game today, what was Homer's problem? I heard he didn't break 90 last game, same deal today?Lack of command, of the curve and offspeed. His velocity, was 93-95 on FB but like GT said, control is not there. I believe he once threw 6-7 straight FB's, in one AB. He's opening up too much, not driving through with the back leg. He'll get on track, but it will take time. He's here, time to learn on the job.
July 1, 200719 yr Do you think, the Management has been waiting till the break, for this. Whom do you think, will assume the duties.....Dent or Hatcher? I vote for Hatch. Whoever it is, is going to have to rattle the cages of some of these guys as they aren't even going through the motions. What I saw today was an embarressment.
July 2, 200719 yr I vote for Hatch. Whoever it is, is going to have to rattle the cages of some of these guys as they aren't even going through the motions. What I saw today was an embarrassment.I understand but Bailey, wasn't on today and he allowed too many runners on, then had to face quality MLB hitting. Pitching is really hurting the Reds, all the way through the staff. They are getting some consistency, from a few but just struggling as a staff. If a change is made, I look for Dent.

Yes pitching is woeful. If you missed todays game then you missed seeing a team that just doesn't give a crap. Dunn misses one at the wall, that IMO was catchable. Gonzo boots a routine grounder. Dunn boots a routine single hit right at him. Griffey nails one past the RFer all the way to the wall and jogs it into a single. They simply don't care and it is showing. This way of play will soon infect younger guys that are still hustling. No leadership evident at all on this club. This team needs to be dismantled and as soon as possible. Manager and GM included.

I think they wanted to give him a fair amount of time to get the ship righted. Time is up. I want to believe they make a bold move on a full time replacement by the end of the break. No inside info there, just a hunch...

This team needs to be dismantled and as soon as possible. Manager and GM included.I watched it and I also made the very same comment, several weeks ago. They have no passion, no desire and no respect for the game, with regard to hustling. Physical E's can be tolerated, but mental E's and lack of hustle, no excuse. As for Dunn's at the fence, not sure he could have caught that ball. Anyone else would be jumping at max, to even get close to the ball. I wasn't disappointed in that effort....the others you mentioned, I understand. Here's a question I have....I think Bailey will be a good pitcher, in time but why is he calling his own pitches, to batters he's never faced before. The scouting reports, can't be that good, because they can't even evaluate their own talent, very well. I think they wanted to give him a fair amount of time to get the ship righted. Time is up. I want to believe they make a bold move on a full time replacement by the end of the break. No inside info there, just a hunch... I'm with you, on the hunch.
