June 15, 200719 yr If he doesn't think he's going to catch it, there is no reason to dive. The risk in his case completely outways the positive. Come on a simple dive to his left which he has made hundreds of times.
June 15, 200719 yr I didn't think Jr. had a chance for the ball to begin with. I think needs to pick and chose when he dives for the ball given the situation and how much he has to extend himself. I surely don't feel this one was of the situaitons. After the replay it was a bit farther than I originally thought.:sssh: But regardless people are saying he shouldn't to avoid getting hurt. I'm afraid the break would be to Jr.'s body somewhere. Jr. and most everyone else realize that a healthy Jr. is worth much more than the possibility of preventing one run from scoring.

With his history of injuries, I have zero problem with him not laying out for a single that drove in 1 run in the 1st inning of a game against the Texas Rangers. I will give up that run rather than risk him being out for the next 2 months with some sort of injury. ...
