Any unexpected players stepping it up in Spring Ball?

Featured Replies

With Spring ball in full swing, has your team had any players step up their game to unexpected levels? I mean kids that may not have shown much in seasons past that look like they will make an impact this season?

I was REALLY impressed with the young Roller boy on defense for Highlands this Spring. Looks like he will contribute right away as a Soph. The young Rosenhagen played well also...great hands on both O & D. Young Bardo also was throwing excellent. Upperclassmen beware, there's talent below itching for the field!!

I've said it since last year to watch out for Roller.. The kid was dominant on D at the Frosh level.. He will definately be a good one. He can fly sideline to sideline to make plays.....Plays like his uncle Bill just with more size and speed.:ylsuper:

Dougie Mason is lookin very good at the QB position for GRC. He had an alright season last year seems like he has everything togather this year.

And he's a lot smarter than his father Steve:banana:

Aren't most the kids today better educated than thier parents!!!:D;)

Oliver Head, the kid will hit. Very hard nosed player that looks to have gotten his speed back after having the rod removed from his leg. He's going to be a force in the defensive backfield. Colin Rosenhagen has also looked good at wr and db.

DJ Elmore, 6'1" 220 lb junior-to-be linebacker for North Bullitt. Has stepped it up in the weight room this winter and will be a force on defense for the Eagles this fall. Had some decleaters in spring ball.

Is he the one who got Cissell? :creepy:

How many other players are doing both spring football and baseball at the same time like Oliver Head? Good to hear he is running more like normal.

No, Cissell was injured diving for a pass that was over his head. He should have given up on the play but his mind doesn't work that way. He will be fine though. Currently doing box jumps with a weight vest everyday and doing cardio work. Will compete in Addias combine at Papa Johns on May 26 along with the Elmore kid. Although Cissell had a great sophomore year, he will be coming into this year stronger, faster, and in better shape than ever. He is now a solid 190. TREMENDOUS work ethic.

I think that Oliver gave up on baseball this year.

What happened?? I thought he was a vital part of the TEAM

Heard he left in the middle of a game over the weekend and hasn't been back.

Was this a "dude with a 'tude" situation? Injury? Disgruntlement with playing time and focusing on FB? This player has lost his head before on the playing field! Which is a real shame because he has outstanding abilities!
