I Really dont care who the next coach is... just hope he can come in and put up with all UK fans.

I will take John Calipari because I think although Donovan has two straight Final Four appearances, and most likely another title, he seems like a lot of the times he gets the least from the most.

 

It is, however, amazing that this is his third Final Four in seven years.

 

I would just like to see Calipari fight against the rest of the SEC. I think it would be awkward to have Donovan at Kentucky if he does end up coming.

A Courier Journal writer recently wrote an article about how Shawne Williams who played with Cal last year at Memphis may have received benefits from a booster under Cal's watch. Not to mention Andre Allen's arrest over the offseason for soliciting a prostitute or Jeremy Hunt being arrested twice, kicked off the team, and let back on this season.

 

If you want Cal, that's fine, but he brings a lot of baggage with him and may not be what's best for the UK program.

Aftrer all she was a Pitino assistant at the same time as Billy D. and was a main recruiter for Jamal Mashburn.

IMO, Pitino would be the best possible coach at this time...He's a proven recruiter, great x's and o's guy and is already familiar with the UK brass and fanbase and is already a legend to most UK fans...I believe the fans would be more patient with him than any other possible coach they could get...

 

Calipari would be my #2 option. I know alot of people don't have much love for the guy, but, when you can recruit the kids he does in the weak C-USA, you have done something and no, it's not the Memphis kids I'm talking about. He also plays the up and down run and gun style so many fans clamor for and he's got the ego to accept the challenge and I mean that in a positive way. As far as the baggage some speak of, I think they need to know the whole situation before making assumptions. I'm not saying he's been perfect, but, he's never once had any team ever on probation and he believes in giving his players a second chance, but, if you look close, a 3rd chance and you're done.

 

Jay Wright would be my 3rd choice. The man has alot of character and alot of connections to the east coast. He is also an excellent X and O guy and gets the max effort out of his players, not to mention, his players would run through a brick wall for him. He has that type of respect from his players, alumni and the college basketball world, in general.

 

IMO, the worst hire they could make would be 1) Pat Riley. Not that I think he can't coach, but, he has no College coaching experience, is not in great health and unproven recruiting skills. Who knows, he may could be great in all the above, but, imo, too big a risk to take at this time.

 

2&3) John Pelphrey or Travis Ford - Neither have the experience or proven themselves to the point to take over a situation like UKs. 5 years from now, who knows..

 

4) Tom Crean - I have nothing against this guy except, IMO, he's another Tubby. Great X and O guy, but, unproven recruiter, especially on the big stage.

How about David Greene. UK fans are wanting an up tempo style and his team runs the fastbreak to perfection. It appears to me that he wins most of his games and averages over 100 pts. Seems like a UK fans dream. Wouldn't need any of the boosters money either. He works for $60 per win.

Norris could roundhouse kick his team to a national title!!!!
