The Last Game has been played - Who is your Mr. Basketball?

Featured Replies

I wish Matt Walls had been able to pull off another great game in the finals (he still had 12 pts and 10 rebounds), but I'm still hopeful that his clutch performances against Adair and Holmes showed the state what he can do - if they didn't already know.

He's my Mr. Basketball no matter what the vote says.

Matt Walls, you are a class act. It is awesome that you always represent yourself, your family, and the Scott County school system with the utmost class. It's been a great ride. I'm sure your grandfather is smiling from ear to ear from up above. Whatever college you choose should consider themselves fortunate.

Mark - my assignment is complete... YODA:thumb: :sssh: :sssh: :thumb:

I think its a 2 man race with Walls and Pettigrew. And I always favor the player who gets it done in March. That is obviously Matt Walls.

I have never met a kid that had such contagious qualities as Matt Walls. He is a born leader, role model, teammate, and most importantly a winner. Not in the sense that he won the state championship but moreso that whatever he does in life he will succeed at.

Any college that gets this kid, Mr. basketball or not, will be getting a steal. Being someone who played at the next level, Walls is a big time player and will have a great collegiate career because he is hard worker.

The year is complete and Scott Co. is on top if that doesn't deserve a vote for Mr. Basketball then I don't know what else a single individual can do for his team.

Pettigrew, Is the best As far as Im concerned . JMO . Both are very good though

Pettigrew's numbers were too much- hopefully King Rex will fill us in on what the final tally was.

You can get that information on the KHSAA site. But here it is:

Led state in scoring, both per game (33.6 over 24 games) and total points (807). Second in rebounding, both per game (13.8) and total (332).

You are just feeding my laziness.....but thanks.

ya he had good number against great talent and they almost won the state tournament(sarcasm).

Walls. Its all about helping your team win, not individual stats.

I will take Pettigrew. It is great that Walls' team won the whole thing but Pettigrew shouldn't be punished because he doesn't play on a loaded team. Mr. Basketball is an individual award.

Does anyone know the last player to win it and a state championship in the same season?

Jermaine Brown - Fairdale 1991

Pettigrew will win it. I'd would love to see Tanner Jacobs get some votes as well.
