Pettigrew. It's not what you did at the state tourament, it's what you did all season long and you can't argue 33 and 13

You have to go with Pettigrew you just can not deny the numbers he put up this year. As for Walls he had a good season but I no for alot of people the only chance they really got to see him play was the championship game and it was not his best game.

 

 

I think there were a lot of voters at the entire state tournament and saw him lead SC against Adair and Holmes. There were also a lot of folks who saw him lead his team to a win in Memorial over HHS... I think Walls biggest advantage is that he has been seen. Playing in the 11th and against Huntington got him a LOT of exposure.

Really, Wow he was robbed!!

I don't know how to do a poll... does a mod have to set it up? It would be interesting to see who would get the BGP votes v/s who gets the real votes. (and to compare to other polls taken earlier in the season.

 

Walls, Pettigrew, Profitt, Brooks, Knowles, Fralix, Becham, others?

Youd also have to add Hill-Holmes ,Anderson-Warren Central, and Vanhoose-Russell imo.:thumb:

Pettigrew played against a few teams in the state tournament, and some that didn't make the tournament but were pretty good. Looks like his team failed in the W column but that doesn't mean he didn't play well, just means his team just wasnt' good enough.

Double digits in rebounds every game. Steffphon had to do it by himself. He scored 51% of the TEAMS points for the season. Two school records of 52 pts then 54 pts. No one stopped him, even though he was Etowns only real scoring threat. He would be double and triple teamed all season. If he had Bud Mackey to dish to, he would have had triple doubles all season.

 

If Etown didn't have Steffphon on the team this year, they win 4 games. If Scott Co didn't have Walls on the team, they still win State.

Walls is a great player, Steffphon is better.

 

Mr. Basketball is an individual award. Steffphon was the BEST individual.

Walls had a target on his back every night as well. BTW Bud is a great player but if you watched the whole tournament then you would know that Walls carried that and Bud only had one good quarter the whole tournament. It just so happens that the quarter happened to be the last of the state championship.
