Since the Mr. Basketball vote was moved until after the Sweet 16 doesnt that mean the post season should also play some sort of role in it? I think the team's success, along with the teams brutal schedule (Walls played against better players night in and night out than any other candidate), as well as the great Sweet 16 run should equal Mr. Basketball for Walls.

Walls also had the benefit of perhaps the state's best supporting cast ... he didn't win the state title alone.

The thing is Pettigrew couldnt elevate his team enough to get the team out of the district. I am sorry, but what you do in March to me is what makes players great.

Walls had good games against Adair County and Holmes, but against Ballard he was 4-17 from the field and 4-9 from the line. If it wasn't for Mackey's big fourth quarter, the Cardinals would have gone home bitterly disappointed.

The same can be said for Walls. Are we going to punish Walls for having a better supporting cast and not scoring 30 ppg.

If it wasnt for Walls Scott County would have never been in the finals. Mackey stayed in foul trouble basically the entire Sweet 16 until the 2nd half of the finals. Walls had to really carry the team at times and in the process he wasnt as fresh as Mackey for the championship game. Then Mackey showed why he is so great.

Walls because he's a champion and because Pettigrews statistics aren't against the same competition that Walls played against.

The MVP was decided before the 4th quarter. Of course if Ballard would have won then they had an MVP for them figured out.
