How is Montgomery a move up for Hatcher? Graves made the final four last season ... when is the last time Montgomery did that?

 

I dont know much about facilities and resources at Graves County, but I would imagine it maybe a move up in that department.

I doubt the SC job pays much more than other county high schools in central Kentucky. I think Hicks makes much more on his camps than any coach in the state. Most coaches have one week of basketball camp. Hicks has several weeks of camp with morning and evening sessions. The camps are very well attended by kids throughout central Kentucky and a few from out of state.

 

The Lousville high schools pay less coaching pay than any public schools in Kentucky. However, their teacher's salaries are tops in the state so in the end the pay is about the same.

I really don't get what you're saying with regard to the comparison in Louisville.

 

If he gets to pocket the profits after expenses of his camps that is more what other coaches get , as some do not get that deal. As I said I don't know what he gets paid, although I am sure it is public record. What I do know is that Toyota basically gifts Scott County 1 Million a year in addition to the occupation tax base Toyota brings to the table. Great situation for a school system.

 

I have heard that Hick's is basically a "visiting teacher" and just coaches basketball. He is one of the best in KY and does a great job.

Graves is a 4A (now 6A) football school that cares about basketball and has a 5,000-seat gym ... Montgomery isn't an upgrade.

Montgomery also has a brand new gym that supposed to be very nice. Like I said, I don't know a lot about Graves County, but Ive been hearing great things about Montgomery Co.

With Hatcher, it gets him closer to his family that lives in West Virginia.

When is the projected date of hiring for this position? Who has already interviewed, if they have interviewed any?

Can't say, I dont know.

Why would Holland not be considered? Coach of the year twice in four years? Has took a team that has never won or had a program and built one. He has been nothing but successful everywhere he has been. If Montgomery wants a young coach he would be a great hire, if they want someone who has a lot of expertise then they should look at the other candidates. But not a good hire is funny! You must be hater from Henry, Ha!
