He is 19 years old, will turn 20 before his first college game so he is not a kid, an adult instead who can take responsibilty for his actions on and off of the court. Previous posts were right on the mark; OJ does not do well with anyone telling him what to do and whenever something does not go his way his first reaction is to get the rule changed, like his two game suspension earlier this year. Patterson received the same penalty last year, took it like a man and went on. OJ got his lawyer, one of the assistant coaches was his attorney, and tried to get it all thrown out. Good luck Floyd, you may pay for this whole thing later.

None of us have any idea what it would be like to be this kid, who can routinely tell off millionaires and celebrities, who's been a national news story since he was a child, who is a target everytime he steps on the court or the sidewalk. :thumb:
March 21, 200719 yr I wasnt impressed when he came to frankfort... I've seen him a few times, and that definitley wasn't his best performance...I remember thinking the same thing...
March 21, 200719 yr I really don't see the big deal in all of this. He has the power to go anywhere he wants to for whatever reasons he wants to and he is doing it. He could go to a powerhouse and basically assure himself a championship but he wants to help jump start a program and get publicity at the same time. USC/Los Angeles is the perfect opportunity for him.

Just hilarious how much control he has and someone said it perfectly, no way he would get away with this at a school with a built in head coach. Coach K, Roy Williams, etc. I will take care of the other scholarships for you, just WOW. Just when you think you have heard it all. lol

That was only the first time they had ever spoken before so I don't think the number thing was a very big deal. It obviously didn't bother Coach too much.

They weren't recruiting him because they didn't feel they had a shot and if he wants to commit without any recruitment what do you suggest he do? I'm sure you can nit pick and say he wanted to let Floyd call him, but I wonder how many times he's had to change the digits because coaches wouldn't leave him alone over the years. I guess for me it goes directly to never having to walk a mile in those shoes and what it would be like to be "the next big thing" since 7th grade...

Do you think either of those two indicated to Pitino that they would do their job for him on the recruiting trail? How do you think Pitino would have handled a "Don't call me, I'll call you" mentality?
