Is Kentucky another U.C.L.A.

Featured Replies

Anybody remember how dominant UCLA was 30 yrs. ago, then a couple bad coaching hires. I see the same thing happening at Kentucky right before our eyes.

It can happen and will if changes are not made.

Lord help us! Not another one of these threads.

You know that thing where you throw up in your mouth?? Yeah, I just did that after reading this thread....

Here's a quote, that anyone can copy and paste, into any UK thread....

NO college basketball team, is rated #1 every year they play. Some will experience highs and others lows. Expectations of fans, are often unrealistic every year. Recruiting is becoming more difficult, with some leaving early and talent, is getting spread across the nation.

The sky is not falling in Lexington, although some want to claim it is.

For the record, what happened 30 years ago at UCLA, doesn't equate to any real comparisons, other than 27-29yrs ago....:thumb:

I believe that comedian Tim Allen had an expression -

VURP.

Why, that's a dead horse.

Let's beat it a little more - it can't feel anything, LOL.

No times are not the same as 30 yrs. ago, but you dont see N.C.- Duke taking 10 yrs. between at least being a threat.

N Carolina suffered through a losing season just a few years ago and didn't make the NCAA tournament.

Duke is no better this year than Kentucky is.

It was only 2 years ago that UK was just a hair from going to the final four in that OT game against Mich State. The year before they were a number 1 seed. I think that would qualify as a threat.

UK was a threat two years ago when Chuck Hayes was a Senior and Azubuike was a Junior. No. 1 or 2 seed 3 out of last five years. UNC was 8-20 four years ago. Two straight years Duke was .500 or below during 95-96 season and 96-97 season. UK hasn't had a losing record since being on probation during the 88-89 season. I am glad our bad seasons are when we win 22 or 23 games and lose in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament.

Don't you love how some people knock Tubby for winning the 98 title by saying he had Pitino's players, but never utter a word about Roy Williams winning at Norht Carolina with players recruited by Matt Dohrety that were freshmen that 8-20 year.
