You are probably correct, I thought Simpson hit those big shots in the end when they needed them but he was their only threat and Dixie would have built a fence around him in OT. Surprised they didnt dog him during the 2nd half more.

So many good tourney games going on at the same time. Congrats Highlands.

Simpson is a nice ball player, his ability to elevate on his shot was a major reason why he was able to score so much. I think Dixie should have tried a different defender, maybe Kendall, someone who was a little bigger and could match up better. But, congrats to Highlands, very exciting game.

Back to the game. I was surprised Dixie didnt go to Mace more in this game. Kendall sounds like a nice player, Pompilio really stepped up.

 

 

I was there. They didn't go to Mace because Chevy kept taking him out of the game. There were a couple of long stretches where Luke just sat. I must say though, Pompilio is a HORSE. He's going to be a nice player his senior year.

Simpson drops 24 I believe on Dixie and the Birds squeak into the Semis. Huge steal at the end on the inbounds by the Birds best man -man defender Zach Hurtt. Someone needs to support Simpson offensively. Hopefully Simons will have a better shooting night and Wise can stay in the game longer. They will need an all out effort from everyone to beat the CCH Colonels. Nice defense until the 4th period for the Birds and they seemed to fall apart and let Dixie back in it.

 

It was tough following the game listening to NKY.com...I'm sorry but they were just atrocious. I wonder what you have to do to get that gig. Congrats to the Birds for earning the victory over the Colonels.

Its about time though, because about three weeks ago he would never shoot, but I am glad to see him hold his own tonight. I think he was the one brightspot in this game for Dixie.

And not enough credit goes out to Michael Eaton...he really does all the little things for HHS. Why was 6'6" Wes Kruse not guarding the inbounds pass with 1.9 left on the clock?? Pass to the big Dixie guy was WAAAAY too easy and he got a great look...just didn't fall. Survive and move on!!!
