I think Augusta will give all they have but in order to keep this one close they need to get some breaks along the way and have everyone all on the same page the entire night , I'm sure Coach Kelsch will have them as prepared as they can get but Mason is definetly the favorite in this one I look for a good game in a great atmosphere for high school basketball you know the Fieldhouse will be covered in orange and black. Good Luck to the Panthers

To Augusta Ballplayers just play your best game and don't get all caught up in the hoopla, just because your playing Mason County doesn't always mean a win for them everytime. Just play the best you can.:thumb:

Augusta will definately be there to support their team and Coach Kelsch will have them prepared, but in most cases as Pressrow likes to say the Best Team will win.

Mason Co. is the better team!

Augusta will play hard and give it all they got!

From 1997 through 2000 Mason Co did not win the district. I'm guessing that was St. Pat? I'm not sure.

As for this game, Bracken Co beat August twice this year. While I know it's rather stupid to get into a team A beat team b who beat team c conversation, this one is appropriate.

This game could get ugly VERY early. Doesn't diminish the success the Augusta kids have had. They just don't have enough on the floor to challenge this team.

I believe if the Royals do win this game it will be their 30th district championship. Still have a ways to go to get to Ashland's 22,291 district championships. But maybe they will someday. : )

***Looking at the KHSAA website, the Royals lost to Fleming Co in 98 and 99. St Pat in 2000. So there ya go. : )

Augusta will play hard the entire game, but let's face it, Mason is the prohibitive favorite in this one. A lot of things will have to go right for the Panthers to keep it reasonably close.

Halftime - Mason County 42, Augusta 24.

Final - Mason 82, Augusta 54.

Last year it was a 1 point game at halftime. But the Royals made one key adjustment by moving Miller over to guard White. Once that happened the Panthers offense went sour. For the 1st half White got to the basket whenever he wanted, and was also able to kick it out to open players on the wing who were on fire from 3. I think Augusta will keep it close early, But they will have to play a near perfect game to win this one. Some how they have to get Miller in foul trouble as quick as they can and keep him off the floor. If that happens then the Panthers chances increase. They must limit turnovers and knock down open shots because the Royals are the best at scoring off turnovers and long rebounds. Regardless of what happens, both teams are still alive. Next week its one and done.

I doesn't really matter who wins tomorrow night the fact is that Augusta will be playing and will be collecting a trophy at the end of the game. They will also get a nice fat paycheck at the end of next week! I know there are others that wish they were in your shoes. Congratulations Robin and the Panthers! You represent the fine city of Augusta well!! :thumb:

I'm pretty sure the Panthers will have some Bracken Co. support as well.

Mason wins this one easily.

We are looking at a 30-40 point spread here.

Mason's managers might throw a double-double down in this one.
