Your post nicely sums up the whole reason I registered Independent. When it came down to it, I simply could not stomach putting either (D) or ® next to my name. It all came down to a philosophical rebellion against both major parties, primarily for the reasons you outline above.

Having a farm IS a legit justification for having a big truck as well as having to meet clients IS a legit reason to drive a car. Just as having appointments across the globe on a daily basis IS a legit reason to use a private plane. Maybe Gore should catch a passenger ship next time he goes to Japan and you should use a Hybrid car for your farm work...

 

 

First of all, as to the bolded part of your post, I have no way of knowing the answer to the question so I won't guess. But I bet you don't know the answer either. And is it conserving energy or global warming that we are comparing Gore vs the BGP membership to? You used two different tests in the posts. With either one however, you can not flat out make the statement that you did as fact, as you can't know for certain either way.

 

And I'm glad that you feel I am justified in having a big truck since I own a farm. What concerns me if folks like Gore get into office is that fact that I may need to get his permission to keep it however. The libertarian in me cringes every time I hear this guy talk.

Rather I simply stated that you cannot factually know that Gore has done more to conserve energy than all of us on this site combined. It is impossible for you to know that as you don't know whom is on this board. What I posted is dramatically different than stating Gore hasn't done much.

9/11 is the main reason we should have elected Gore in 2000. President Bush has used 9/11 as an excuse for everything he has done since. He has hurt the long term security of the United States. Gore would have done MUCH better.

By the same token, does any of us really need a dwelling that is larger than the bare minimim needed to accommodate it's occupants? I mean, my father was raised in a 1 bedroom shack without electricity or running water with 12 other siblings.

 

Your father's parents would have been a very responsible representative for a Global warming platform. They would have my respect and I would rally behind them and spread the word.

IMO Yes. He did the best he could with the information and supports he had at the time. Perhaps 9/11 would not even have been an issue if Clinton had pulled the plug on Osama Bin Laden when he had the chance. While I do not agree or even support everything Bush or his administration does (or did) I do think he did a better job than Al Gore could've ever hoped to do. Period.:walk:

The three I mentioned give me a feeling that they don't have the stomach or the backbone to defend our great country.. You're right, I have no proof, but if their past practices lead my down my road.

 

I'm curious, in your opinion, how would the following days that unfolded 9/11/01 if say Al Gore would have been the president. If you don't care; give me the scenerio.
