Ok you might want to read the post before you try to call me out...If you look you will see when I was talking to GT there that if UK did lose out from here, that they would probably get in on name only. In the other post however I was saying what I would think would happen and that is that we will beat Georgia and will make nice little run in the SEC tournament, so we would deserve to get in by performance and not just name... Where did you go Deuce? :sssh:
February 26, 200719 yr Its funny how some of my fellow UK fans think UK shouldn't be in the tournament, when people who aren't even UK fans admit that UK is not even a bubble team right now... I do not know if I am a UK fan or not. Why - because no person ever becomes bigger than the program and IMHO Tubby has. UK is afraid to fire him or even put pressure on him to make any changes other than strength coach......why, because of lawsuits and negative pub in a place where we are some sot of mythical racist state......

Do I need to start calling folks out? :sssh: Basketball is no different than football....Money is the bottom-line and everyone knows UK will bring the biggest fan base...With that said, I believe the high RPI, the schedule strength and SEC record will be enough to get them in on merit, not just name, but, if it comes down to them and someone of lesser stature in a cointoss, I believe the Cats would get in.. Just like N.Dame in football....

Why would they have fired him before now? As I just pointed out in another thread Tubby has won more SEC crowns than just about any UK coach, he has one of the better winning percentages, and he has the 7th best winning percentage out of active coaches in the NCAA tournament. So there hasn't really been much AT ALL for UK to base firing him on. If this season ends up not being so good, then yeah there will be pressure on him to do better, but he wont be fired after this season. It would take next year, and possibly the year after that as well to justify firing him...

My point in making that statement then was that I wouldn't have been surprised if "The Name" gave UK the push they needed to get over the top IF that situation were to arise...

If you took what they have done this season and put it on Georgia they would be outside needing to make a run in the SEC tourney to get into the big dance. What have they really done? Their biggest win is UofL. NO wins vs ranked teams.
February 27, 200719 yr Uh oh... Bandit is talking to himself.... Kentucky is not getting in ONLY because of the name on their jersey, but it helps them... Just like it helps Duke and North Carolina.... Not liking it is one thing, but it's not something that just Kentucky benefits from.

As I said go back and look at the post I quoted and what me and GT was talking about. We were talking about if UK would lose out, and I did say if we lost out we would get in but the only reason would be most likely is because of our name. And then in the later post I said what I think will happen and is that we will beat Georgia, and do well in the SEC tournament. So then we would be definitely getting in by performance and not by name...I really think you should stop and admit now they you TRIED to call me out on something, but in reality you were wrong and had NOTHING to call me out on in this situation, but you are more than welcome to go ahead and keep diggin and trying to find stuff...
