Your a piece of work....You need to worry about Boyd County:laugh:

Boyd County will not be at the regional tournament. Rose Hill will knock them out Tuesday night:thumb: So I don't think Russell will need to worry about Boyd!

Congrats. to Russell, beating Ashland on their home floor is not easy to do.

Wrong. Boyd will be there and Rose Hill will not.

Good to see a little spirited "debate" between the Russell and Ashland contingents. When you guys play "kissie butt", you guys are neither interesting nor honest.

The atmosphere at the game was full of electricity. It was truly a pleasure to be there. Both student sections were good and seemed to be reasonably controlled. I watched Coach Sparks and, I believe, Principal Howard patrol and hawkeye the Russell group the entire game. They did a good job as "enforcers". I didn't see anyone monitoring the Ashland group but didn't see any real problems.

If anyone had any doubts, they should have been settled. Jonathan VanHoose was clearly the dominent player on the floor. He was a coach on the floor, scored, rebounded, and played good defense. When he posted up a couple of times on McDavid, it was no contest.

Onetoya offered an olive branch of sorts in his first post but has since shown those true maroon colors and the branch has been burned. Ashlanders continue to live in the distant past and, if that new steel mill is not built pretty quickly, the future looks less than promising for them.

If it cannot be said that Russell is dominent in the region, at least we can say that they are dominent against Ashland, don't you think?

The only time i remember Vanhoose posting up on McDAvid all night he shot an airball? He did put a few in his face from three point range but I must have missed his dominant post play?

Yes, kele okereke, you did miss it. Those maroon glasses must have been fogged up at that point of the game.

Scooter, Great Point Exactly!!! I would agree with you here. It was awesome to watch two schools cheer for their teams so emphatically and not be derogatory or negative against the other team. KUDOS TO BOTH STUDENTS, SCHOOLS, AND FANS!! But to Ashland's credit, I do believe both assistant principals were monitoring their kids too.

My only question was Ashland's policy on signs? I thought that policy was only for 64th district contests.

Russell hasn't been dominant in the 16th Region basketball until the past two years. Some of the transfers that Russell has now has made them the paramount program in the 16th. Now think about the program that is always looking for a shot at the state title????????????? Ashland!!!!!!!

You honestly have to kidding me that Russell basketball is even close to Ashland when you all can't even win the first game at Rupp and like many will say we haven't been there but we have in 1997. So back off.

These names ring a transfer bell?

Arbaugh Braley Large Beach Cantrell and the list goes on and on.....

Jay, I know of the Beach move, (Football) with Fairview having abandoning their varsity team a year or so before.

I think the Beach's decision to improve his chances in football (in hindsite) and going to Ashland are evident now.

I do not know of the other's named, but the Beach situation speaks for itself, can you say, "Go Packers!"

Now back to the original threads purpose.

All of this was brought about by an Ashland fan that didn't want to stick to the topic of this years game. Bringing up some facts to show the hypocracy of a statement would seem relevant in this case.

This is a 16th region thread, I think everyone here knows that it is impossible for ANY thread to stay on topic for basketball. lol

FBALL, your avatar suggests your on the know with the Russell program. What was the deal with the Russell student section having a sign removed from the gym at the game by an Ashland administrator? Nobody seems to be replying to my question about Ashland's district policy on 64th district game bans. How should that have occured since Russell is in the 63rd? Seems to me they were looking for it from the beginning.

I believe a couple of years ago some Ashland students had a dry/erase board and were writing some pretty vulgar things on it. This was during a game at Russell. The board was removed.

I don't know the circumstances that lead to the removal of a sign last night, but I would guess that the roots of it lead back to that dry/erase board incident.

Ashland's gym, Ashland's rules.

Ashland has had their share of transfers. Beach, Arbaugh, Large, Cantrell and Matt Thomas to name a few. Yes, Russell has a couple on their team and I am the last person on the earth to be called a Red Devil fan but if someone is going to call out Russell on the topic of transfers then they must accept their own schools list of transfers as well, especially the ones who have had major impact like the list I have on this reply.

I must have missed it. I think he did score on him once in the post but "no contest"? I don't know about that. I'm not saying McDavid is better than Vanhoose before you get all defensive, but I do think McDavid is alot stronger than Vanhoose and I don't think he beat him in the post much if any. :p
