Scandal at UC???

Featured Replies

When I was out getting lunch, I heard a report on 620 WDAE (Tampa) that there is some kind of scandal emerging at UC involving Bearcat football players, recruits, and sexual favors???

I have found no printed link to the story, but here is a link to the radio station. Listen for the local updates at 20, 40, and the top of the hour.

Gametime! What's the ups?

Did they say whether it was involving the previous coaching staff or the new one?

They did not mention the coaching staff that I can remember. Just football players and recruits.

^^ Very intresting. So with the 8 players they are saying it was 1 girl involved?

It was on the news last night. They were saying a former soccer player was the girl involved in making the tape.:sssh:

Something is fishy about this whole deal. The source was an anonymous letter from an "employee" in the athletic department. It seems the sex was consensual and from all I can gather this was while Dantonio was still in charge. As more comes out I'll keep you guys updated but I don't see much of a story right now other than someone having an ax to grind. Too bad they weren't big enough to put a name on the letter they sent to officials and every sports anchor and shock jock in town...

Why would Bob Huggins sign that letter?

Seriously I hate to say this, but this type of action happens at every campus in the country (except UK :sssh: )

I find hard to believe that a tape of this has been circulating the dorms and it is just now know coming out.

I don't. Why would anyone on UC's campus care about consensual sex?

No criminal activity and minor NCAA violation. Slap on the wrist at most if the UC handles it properly. No big deal to me; high school football player going to check out a university, going to a college party, getting a little brew, checking out a chick, going to the red light district. No wrongdoing on UC's part to me.

I sent the wicked witch an email and got this in return...

President Zimpher is in receipt of your message and appreciates you

taking the time to comment. Be assured that the campus investigation

is

in the hands of our judicial affairs officer at this time.

The President received her copy of an anonymous letter allegedly

written

by an employee through the campus mail on Friday, February 16th and

immediately forwarded it to appropriate authorities for investigation.

Apparently, the anonymous writer had already released a copy to the

media. Be assured that the Department of Athletics is cooperating

fully

in the investigation and that any violations of the university code of

conduct will result in appropriate disciplinary action.

We hope that you will also express your feelings to the members of the

media who chose to run with a story received from anonymous and

unsubstantiated sources and before any allegations could be

substantiated. To date, I am not aware that the university has released

any official statements on this matter, but our spokesperson has been

responsive to media inquiries. If and when allegations are

substantiated, the university will surely comment.

Unless they "encouraged" the girl to partake.

This whole thing sounds bogus.
