Officiating was "nasty ugly" tonight for both teams and I dont know who benefitted from this inconsistency. One ref in particular was way out of the loop on the what type of tempo the crew wanted to convey to the top 2 teams in the region.

 

If the referee's region tournament vote was tonight, NOBODY would recieve any votes from area coaches IMO.

 

The greatest incomsistency was the no calls in the first half. Elliott definitely lost that battle, it took them out of their game early. They were getting hammered and no calls.

Russell had their top 3 players foul out. Elliott Co had 1 foul out at the end when they were fouling to stop the clock. I don't see how anybody can complain from the Elliott Co side considering the aggressive style of defense they play.

The win by Russell was not suprising to me at all. 1. They are very good, 2. They were at home. 3. Senior night at Russell. Elliot and Russell could very well meet again in the 16th Region with a different outcome, who knows? These are two of the top teams in the 16th and imo neither one would have a distinct advantage in a rematch in the region.

Congrats to Russell. Good win on Senior Night and not surprising at all. They have proven to be the top team in the Region. I hope these two meet again in Morehead and not until the finals. They have proven themselves to belong as the top two in the region. The postseason should be great.

Nice win for the Devils, they appear to be primed for a big postseason run. Where are all the Elliott faithful after the loss, don't be too down it's not a loss in the postseason. With that said it still stings, but you can't let it get you down and get prepared for March.

One more Russell question, Does Jeff Davis still coach there?

Just because players foul out " however many " does not mean that 100 foul's were not over looked,"which would be no calls". Some of Russell's fans commented about the terrible officiation in this thread. Naturally they are not going to say it effected the outcome seeing they won.
