February 18, 200719 yr Because Tubby doesn't know how to utilize the talent he's got...:walk: I really think this Cats team has the athletes to press effectively. Today it helped get them back in the game. Yet old stubborn Tubster has to stick to the ball line defense.
February 18, 200719 yr 'Cats lose this game in the first 10 minutes...2 lousy points. Sheeesh We only had 29 points with 12 minutes to go in the GAME. I remember a game in 1996 when we had 84 points at halftime (LSU).
February 18, 200719 yr I know Jasper does some good things, but can our offensive woes really tolerate having a player on the floor who seems afraid of taking a wide-open shot? There were a few times in the Alabama game where Jasper looked like he was playing hot-potato instead of basketball.
February 18, 200719 yr BillyRayJoeBob and Farmhands have taken a lot of heat the last few years for saying the things that EVERYONE seems to be saying today. Interesting.....

February 18, 200719 yr I was obviously upset with the intensity they seemed to play with today. Almost looked like they didn't care. I have tickets to the LSU game Tuesday, and if they don't win then, IMO they are squarely on the bubble, with some work to do. I really hope they get back on track, for Tubby's sake, and I hope they make a run in the tourney. But with the intensity they brought for 30+ minutes today, they won't be able to beat very many teams in the country. LSU is a must win if there ever was one. I still support Tubby, just a little disapointed in the way he had the guys prepared today. You are officially in the minority.
February 18, 200719 yr This didn't just happen this year. Smith has lost 10 games or more in half of his season at UK. Please don't act like this years subpar team is an isolated incident. Yeah last year after Azubuike & Morris made horrible decisions!!!!
February 18, 200719 yr Did those coaches inherit arguably the top program in the nation? No they built programs into what they are now. Has Duke, UNC, UCLA had periods in their history where they weren't the best??????? It happens to every program.
February 18, 200719 yr Can we give this up? Not only did Tubby get his best (ranked) recruiting class ever that year, I guarantee that Lofton would NOT be the player at UK that he's been at UT. Tubby stifles shooters. Take one bad shot or miss a good one, and Tubby yanks you. Pearl builds his players up. Look at him on the sideline, he's positive, he's smiling, he's encouraging. Tubby RARELY smiles or congratulates a player coming to the bench. The players are intimidated and it shows. They're too worried about making a mistake, so instead they just stand there. Bob Huggins, Tom Izzo, Jim Calhoun, Rick Barnes, Mike Krezechski, Roy Williams, Ben Howland they're all peaches and cream!!!! The point is there are numerous successful coaching styles!!!!
February 18, 200719 yr Yeah last year after Azubuike & Morris made horrible decisions!!!! Azubuike! Now there's a name we don't hear anymore....where is he today?
February 18, 200719 yr Been busy this weekend and have not been able to post and could only listen to the last 3 minutes of the game. Have to say, I was disappointed in the way the game went. To have such a big game and to come out flat is not acceptable. Very disappointing loss. Good teams have to be able to go on the road and win games against good opponents. Not all of them, but some. UK made a nice run in the middle of the season and seemed to have turned some things around but have faltered here lately against good teams. During the stretch run, they have beat themselves rather than have the opposing team win the game. Not a good sign. Good teams have to be able to close out victories and this version of the Cats are not doing that. The junior class was a false advertisement with 2 MCD AA's in it. They were part of the problem last season, not leading the team this season, and unfortunately unless Tubby can sort them out it won't be much difference next season.
February 18, 200719 yr Check out Cats Pause. Talk about a melt down. They were in rare form yesterday...
