February 18, 200719 yr I understand that in his post-game comments Tubby reminded the fans that "Chuck Hayes isn't walking through that door people!!!". He also complained about negative message boards hurting recruiting. And that we live in a "micro-wave" society. Joking, but he did sound pretty depressed. There it is!! There's the reasons for UK recruiting problems, all of the BGP'ers on here.
February 18, 200719 yr Spoken like a true college basketball fan :thumb: Why is Tubby NEVER to blame, nobody blames him, and his post game shows are.. "we didn't do this, we didn't do that. UK's stock when got to Lexington was around $125.00 a share. Now we are down to around $25.00 a share. NO CEO in America would survive that drop. What exchange did these prices come from?
February 18, 200719 yr One of the most uninspired games I have watched in many years. Kentucky once again stands around offensively, plays with no emotion, energy, or desire. :thumb: I agree, I hate losing anytime but if the Cats are playing hard, hustling, rebounding, going hard after loose balls, etc. and shots just not falling (the Fla. game) that is one thing. I can take that. Today we were just flat out Lazy, terrible passing, standing around on offense, not communicating or giving "help" / rotating down on defense, etc.. I hate losing as I said but I really can't stand losing bc of lack of effort:madman: and that was the case today!
February 18, 200719 yr What exchange did these prices come from? I'm not sure of the exchanged but it is governed by the SEC.
February 18, 200719 yr The only thing wrong Top 3 Tubby has done is recruit a top ranked class that all you critics want him to, and they have been a total disappointment. It is too easy to blame the coach, and give credit for that matter. Has Coach K forgotten how to coach? Has Tom Izzo? Has Mark Few? Has Jim Calhoun? Has Jim Boeheim? And neither has Tubby Smith; it is on these disappointing, mentally weak players. Perry & the juniors have all shown they can play; they are just not tough enough to get it done. Put the blame where it belongs, and quit taking the easy way out and claim you are a "true UK" fan. Did those coaches inherit arguably the top program in the nation? No they built programs into what they are now.
February 18, 200719 yr Dont feel bad about sticking with OTS too long I defended him hard until he dropped the ball on Lofton. Can we give this up? Not only did Tubby get his best (ranked) recruiting class ever that year, I guarantee that Lofton would NOT be the player at UK that he's been at UT. Tubby stifles shooters. Take one bad shot or miss a good one, and Tubby yanks you. Pearl builds his players up. Look at him on the sideline, he's positive, he's smiling, he's encouraging. Tubby RARELY smiles or congratulates a player coming to the bench. The players are intimidated and it shows. They're too worried about making a mistake, so instead they just stand there.

February 18, 200719 yr I think UK is ok with Bradley,Crawford and Morris. we get nothing from the 4 and 1 spots. Morris gets into foul trouble when he helps out on guards getting beat off the dribble.

Including Rashaad Carruth and that's saying alot.
February 18, 200719 yr Because Tubby doesn't know how to utilize the talent he's got...:walk: No, the problem is that he has no talent on the floor, bench, coaching staff.
February 18, 200719 yr It doesn't matter who the coach is I am behind UK!! :thumb: :thumb: Well said, I agree!!
February 18, 200719 yr I was obviously upset with the intensity they seemed to play with today. Almost looked like they didn't care. I have tickets to the LSU game Tuesday, and if they don't win then, IMO they are squarely on the bubble, with some work to do. I really hope they get back on track, for Tubby's sake, and I hope they make a run in the tourney. But with the intensity they brought for 30+ minutes today, they won't be able to beat very many teams in the country. LSU is a must win if there ever was one. I still support Tubby, just a little disapointed in the way he had the guys prepared today.
February 18, 200719 yr Still looking for a marquee win......... They beat IU sheesh give'm a break...
February 18, 200719 yr Tubby stifles shooters. Take one bad shot or miss a good one, and Tubby yanks you. I'm a football guy and even I have noticed this. Tubbs doesnt give his players a chance to get any kind of rhythm goin, Sparks is a perfect example. The players are scared to shoot cause they dont wanna miss and have to ride the bench so they end up forcing up bad shots or turning the ball over.
