Against Graves #58 impressed me at DE - Griffith. Also Sophomore Waddy playing WR and CB impressed me - another guy who can house it, which he did just that on a screen. Pullom was everywhere. Again I think Ashley should be QBing...he did a great job. Got to let that young man get plenty of opportunities on Friday.

Can it really be true though? A broken collar bone healed and ready for contact in 4 weeks seems a bit early. I would not be surprised if this was week 7 or 8, but this seems a bit early.

Four weeks from a broken collarbone to full contact? Either that dude is Wolverine or somebody is being a little optimistic with the injury report.

Without surgery, broken collarbones are 8-12 weeks to heal and get back on the field. With surgery it's 12-24 weeks.

I believe so too. I doubt he plays. Not sure I even want him playing yet.

Yeah no way he is playing. Like @Devils Fan said, no reason to rush him back even at end of season. I was told early on that it was a clean break and would heal nicely no surgery. He isn't wearing any sling right now at least in pictures. You've got Apollo, Marshall, Muhlenberg, off week week, Henderson and Madisonville. That's 6 more weeks 10 weeks of healing. If everything works well I'm guessing last game of season to week 3 in playoffs. If we lose to Apollo, week 2 would be on road. The difference between O with and without him is monumental. 4.5 speed a great arm and best decision maker at that position I've ever seen for O. He doesn't miss many throws. If he is fully healthy O is probably #1 in 5A, without him I'm not sure we are top 5 in 5A. I do think Apollo is a top 7 team in 5A so this will be a test. I would guess Edge is going to bring the house on Biggs. Stop run or blitz Biggs. Apollo's offense is legit and if they can fill some holes on defense they could be in round 3 if not further. We will know more Friday night but they beat a great program in Heritage Hills. Should be a great game.

Catholic hasn't given up many points this year outside of Boyle and Apollo, and after rewatching the OC-Owensboro game, I think that score was a little misleading. Owensboro moved the football and had opportunities, but they simply couldn't finish drives and punch it in.

Without G'Way, that offense just looks different. They struggle to consistently get the ball to their playmakers, and you can see the frustration when they get behind the sticks or drives start stalling.

Walker is the guy that concerns me the most. That kid is going to be a really good football player, and Apollo cannot let him get rolling early. If Owensboro finds success on the ground and stays ahead of the chains, they can make this a game. But if Apollo gets a couple early stops, forces them into obvious passing situations, and puts points on the board, I think the pressure starts mounting pretty quickly on Owensboro.

I also believe Owensboro had a player ejected against Graves, so that's another situation worth watching depending on who it was and what the availability looks like this week. You can't have this happen when you are in the position O is in.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Owensboro try to get Ty Ashley more involved offensively. At the same time, they have to be smart with him. If G'Way is already unavailable and Ashley were to get banged up too, then O's backs will be even further against the wall.

For Apollo, this is a big measuring-stick game. We've seen what this team can look like when the offense is clicking and the defense gets stops. The question is whether they can put four quarters of it together against a key district rival.

If Apollo starts fast, wins up front, and makes Owensboro play from behind, I really like the Eagles' chances.

The kid that got ejected is not a huge impact player for us. It hurts us because now the 3rd string DE is playing there.

I'll be watching the Cromwell Media one by Vic Evans and the other guy. They have done an excellent job with their live streams this year. I travel a lot for work and will be out of town tonight, so hopefully I can find a spot that is willing to stream it.

For Apollo to have a shot, they are going to have to tackle well and limit the game breaking plays from Owensboro. That's going to be a lot easier said than done. I think Coach Edge will have a solid game plan, as usual, I am just not sure the Eagles defense can slow them down. If they can't that puts a ton of pressure on the offense to keep pace against a defense that is being severely underrated lately. I think Apollo shows well tonight but just too much Devils. 42-21.
