Hearing a 12th region job is opening soon (maybe even right now).  Stay tuned, could create a ripple effect within the region.

If I were to guess I'd say Jeff Jackson.  He's had a good run and this year at Lincoln was underwhelming.  He's losing two senior starters and Baird will graduate the year prior to the shot clock coming in.  The shot clock will probably make a bigger impact on Lincoln, if they stay with what they've been doing for years, than any team in the region.  The fact that you said it might be open right now implies that it's a team that's been put out already.

  • The 12th Region Tournament field is set after tonight: Danville Christian, Boyle Co., West Jessamine, East Jessamine, Somerset, Rockcastle Co., Somerset Christian and Southwestern.

  • I’d like to see a breakdown of what happened in that game.  It was a pretty low scoring affair. When discussing the coaching we shouldn’t focus on Wayne County and dismiss Al Gover’s performance

  • Lincoln/DCA and Boyle/Garrard should make for a fun night of basketball.

I'll let it break on its own, but I'm pretty confident in the source.

I could see Mercer as a possibility too.  They were 8-22 this year.

Does an open job at Lincoln have the most ripple effect on the 12th?

I could see Mercer opening up and if they are smart they look within the 12th region this time.

Ryan Young might be a candidate since he's from there.  He's had a successful run at Somerset and he's losing his best player in Absher so that could be a factor as well.  On the other hand, Somerset could be a pretty good job.  They should be in contention for the All A regional every year with their only real competition at this time being DCA.  Somerset Christian and Danville both have the potential to challenge in the All A but for now it's a two horse race.  I'd guess that the Lincoln fans expectations might be higher and a bit more unrealistic that the Somerset fans.

Depends on who wants to go after it and who is hired.

Hearing Mercer is coming open from a good source.

Somerset has averaged 20 wins a season for the last 4 years.  I think the expectations are pretty high there.

This is the school I was referring to, to cancel out any speculation.

That's true, but there are quite a few Lincoln fans who think they should win the region each and every year.

True, and very unrealistic.  Coach Jackson isn’t going anywhere.  All he knows is ball.

I think Mercer will get some applicants.  Their teacher salary is very competitive, have an athletic minded Super (former coach) and have created jobs for Coach Yeast and Adkins.  They will want to bounce back, and not struggle in the main two sports.

I'd say he might consider it when the shot clock comes in.  He's played that same style since I first started watching them in the early 2,000's.  Other than Baird, they've got a couple of younger players who are decent but definitely need a lot of work to compete with the better teams.

Lincoln doesn’t have a program of a continuous revolving door of players coming in every year like some programs, they have to develop what they’ve got!  Their 7th and 8th grade coming up is pretty darn good from what I’ve heard!
