So I am totally bought in on Rockcastle. I think Rockcastle wins tonight. I think it could be by 9 or more.

I also think the DCA vs. East game can go in two directions - East never fires up and DCA smothers them and its something like 60-41 or East swings the momentum a few times early just enough that DCA never gets separation and it ends up a toss up right at 50 a piece.

I think we are headed for a Boyle County - Rockcastle final.

I am not a fan of either but I would much rather see this than 2 Olympic teams play.

  • The 12th Region Tournament field is set after tonight: Danville Christian, Boyle Co., West Jessamine, East Jessamine, Somerset, Rockcastle Co., Somerset Christian and Southwestern.

  • I’d like to see a breakdown of what happened in that game.  It was a pretty low scoring affair. When discussing the coaching we shouldn’t focus on Wayne County and dismiss Al Gover’s performance

  • Lincoln/DCA and Boyle/Garrard should make for a fun night of basketball.

I lean West Jess. and DCA, but either of the other two teams being there wouldn't surprise me one bit esp. if Ateny is hampered some with the lower back.  But, if that's the case he still looked pretty effective to me last night.  Rock is very physical team, and the way these referees have let it go it could be in their advantage.

This is the first time Rock has saw the size of DCA. I don’t think the two have ever played. It seems like the teams who play DCA more regularly do better than the teams who haven’t played them. I’ll take DCA by double digits.

I’ll lean West Jessamine in the other game. However, I won’t be surprised if Driver wills them to another victory.

The Mikels kid really gets overshadowed for DCA.  He's old school type player, and has got it done all season.  Between him and Ateny they're getting 33 PPG/18 REBS.

He had a big game last night against East.

He's a very good finisher around the basket, and is patient with his footwork.

My best argument for Rockcastle is that had they not lost out on a year of Walker Craig that they would have entered this year as a regional contender alongside DCA. Wayne had to work to get to the top of the region as did Somerset. Rockcastle needed more time because they lost out on so much potential development last year. So now they are peaking at the right time and as close to contender mode as they will ever get.

They're absolutely a contender.  Veteran group that plays physical ball, and have an absolute flame thrower in Walker Craig.
