2025 was a year that saw the Maroons start to take off. For much of the year, they ebbed and flowed within the top 3-5 of everyones rankings and almost in a way flew under the radar. After a season ending injury to their QB Zak Anderson who was a great player, a lot of people may have wavered on the Maroons. They just kept playing. They won their first four including a nice win over Corbin, lost their next two against Johnson Central and South Warren, but then went on a run that saw them making it to the state championship game. 

They took down East Jessamine, South Laurel, and West Jessamine to win the region. A lot of people picked against them against Atherton after Atherton ran clock on BG, but they blocked out the noise and routed the Ravens 17-0 in a game that wasn't as close as the final score indicates. They did fall to Owensboro in the state finals by a final of 35-7, but making it is still an accomplishment nevertheless. PC had their banquet last night, and were right back in the weight room this morning as they start the climb back.

This is the class a lot of Pulaski County has been looking towards. They return a ton of their production and have a lot of young talent coming up as well. They have a talented freshman class, noted by Kal Ridner who may get the nod at QB for the 2026 season. Can PC make the jump and make it back to the carpet, winning it all this year?

How do we feel about the Maroons this coming season? 

I would think Pulaski would have to be considered a top 5 team entering 5A next year with what they have returning. The core of their offensive line all return along with a triple threat rushing attack in Brock, Adams, and Ford. I think they will come out of the east again and play at Kroger Field for a second straight year but just a bias opinion.

REALLY like the way he finishes blocks! You can tell he plays with an attitude and nastiness to him! 

I think Ridner does get the starting QB job so I guess it depends on how well the freshman progresses throughout the season as to how far this team can go next year.

They were pretty tough last year too.  

I believe that Pulaski County is going to be very good this coming season and wouldn’t be surprised if they win state. They have a really good senior class returning, maybe one of the best in the state. Between the seniors and the rest of their team, they are going to be tough to beat.

Last year's 5A runner-up is deep into the off-season grind.

John Hines built a strong foundation. Travis Burns is doing a super job building on that foundation. That level of coaching over an extended period of time is exceptional. 

The Maroons are moving some good weight this off-season. ?
