I think transfers need to be reigned in as well. I like what Cal said this week, give every kid one free transfer then any after that you have to sit a year...with special allowance if coach leaves.

I would never be for that in a million years.  I would never support anything that restricted the rights of the player.   And does it always have to be the old coaches crying that can't win anymore now that the playing field has been somewhat leveled, lol. 

I’ve always felt like you need to stay at a program for 2yrs then transfer with no issue (pre-NIL). Now getting paid, they should definitely have to stay for a certain amount of time, whatever that would be.

If Texas Tech goes on to lose, we will have seen six quarterfinal games played under the current format, every last one lost by the team that entered with the bye. That does not point to a properly set up format.

I agree and 16 just mentioned that in the game thread too.

16 teams, the computer decides, no byes, no extra weeks, play ball.

I agree 100% plus add that none of them have been that close after now 6 games in this format the top 4 seeds are 0-6 and the average margin of victory by the lower seeded teams is 15.16 points per game. Unreal!

Mind blowing for such a high level of sports.

However, I am thinking that ends with the next game but who knows. 

Last year it was odd but not totally unexpected as Boise St and Arizona St were both in the top 4 as conference champs. With the tweek this year,(seeding the top 4 regardless of winning a conference or not) I think everyone was pretty confident that the top 4 were the actual top 4 teams.

One problem is that many times the "Top" teams are considered that due to their final record. A team with zero losses or just one loss is automatically considered the best of the best. But if they weren't really challenged during the season it can hide a lot of flaws. Ohio State this year, even Georgia last year. Georgia's wins even against ranked teams, were against teams that the season would grade out as mostly mediocre. 

I thought Ohio State was the most talented team, but they folded the first time a team really fought back. 

Notre Dame will be in that position next year, with a soft as butter schedule they likely will roll into the playoffs undefeated and ranked at or near the top. But, if they open the playoffs next year against teams that have been in a few battles, Notre Dame won't last long.
