His dad Rick played in the NFL. I wonder if he has earned more in NIL than his dad earned in his NFL career?

He actually lost the starting QB job after the 7th game this year to a freshman. He only came in because of injury. 
 

NKY QB Cam O’Hara is enrolling early to WKU and will be there starting in January. WKU is going to have two pretty good young QBs next year. 

If you look at the history of WKU quarterbacks, Coach Helton has always preferred portal quarterbacks with experience over any recruits. It will be interesting to see who he brings in now that their season is over.

I have a hard time getting excited about any of the bowl games but I will watch football over about anything so there is that.

I mean, I think it would "work" in the NFL but it would be very weird. 

And I realize the college system probably needs to evolve some but I LOVE seeing college players finally benefitting from their talents instead of just the schools and who knows what corrupt forces behind the scenes. 

The other problem with the NIL is that it inflates player's egos. A guy who is a benchwarmer and not starter material thinks the grass is greener and he should start- he elects to go somewhere else, loses the job, and the movement continues until he runs out of eligibility. 

 

The money piece also comes full circle, $ talks. Players think their valuation is way higher than currently at X school, so they fly the coup because Y school is willing to pay them a higher price. 

I still love college football but is 100% changed forever and not for the better!

I think we agree there have to be some changes or I agree it will be unsustainable. 

I also wonder how long all the "silly bowl games" will be played.

Multi year contracts. That's how it is in pro sports. Colleges should start signing players to multi year contracts.
