That’s exactly what I said, not a rivalry. That said…The cow pasture…stop. Neport was fine.  NewCath fumbled 3 times inside the 5 in the regular season in 92. It was the one year in the 90s that they had the size advantage over Beechwood and, after Berger, NewCath had the next 4 best skill players. Those two years Yeagle was the difference.

Wasn't Greg Hergott on Beechwood's 1992 team?

I would think so.  I know he was their starting QB in 93 & 94. May have been in 92 as well.

First of all, the field at Newport in the 93 playoffs was nothing but absolute mud, it was terrible. They tried putting stuff on it to absorb the mud, and it turned it into glue.
Yes the regular season game in 92, NCC should have won, but the playoffs was an absolute shellacking, and Beechwood had several good skill players, I believe Brad Wulfeck had quite a game against NCC in the 92 playoffs, including housing a long fumble return.
NCC had the clear size advantage, Beechwood had the clear speed advantage, and speed kills, hence the 38-13 whipping in the playoffs.

The 1992 playoff game was complete domination by Beechwood, 38-13, so not sure how NCC was the better team. 1993 playoff game was won 15-6 by Beechwood in a cow pasture at Newport, and Beechwood held a 12-1 series advantage over NCC in the 90’s.

The series was owned by Beechwood in the 90’s, outside of the regular season loss to NCC in 93.

Here is a short summary of the 1992 regular season game, won by Beechwood 12-8.

On my end it was just talk. They beat the brakes off of us my junior and senior year.

I take a JR Scott Wiggins in 92 over a Soph Hergott.

Berger, Wulfeck, Brockhoeft, Hergott > Sandfoss, Simon, Wiggins and Hager (God Rest His Soul)….and the scores reflected it.

93 was Hergott, Brockhoeft and Lubrecht, and that backfield was still better than NCC’s that had all 4 guys from 92 returning.

Agree to disagree. As to the point of the thread, Coach Yeagle was the best of the 90s and was the difference and I say that with all due respect to Mr. Schneider

You lose 3 fumbles inside the 15 yard line In a 12-8 loss after out gaining a team by 200 yards, that will sting.

I know all of the people mentioned in this conversation and knew Branden Hager very well, and have nothing but respect for all of them as competitors and always respected Coach Schneider and his program, and yes Mike Yeagle was a helluva coach, especially as a motivator. However, Beechwood was loaded with talent in the 90’s, it’s not like Coach Yeagle was carrying a bunch of donkeys to titles, he had great players as well.

The bottom line is, Beechwood won 12 out of 13 contest against NCC in the 90’s after they dropped down from 2A. That wasn’t just because they had Mike Yeagle on the sidelines, he was certainly a great coach, but you have to have players, and Beechwood players polish their state championship rings, while NCC’s players talk about that ONE time they beat Beechwood in the 90’s to win the District title.

As for the topic of this thread, Paris absolutely had the locker room heat jacked thru the roof, and the toilets were full and hadn’t been flushed. It was super hot, and smelled terrible!! Tigers got dressed on the track in late November, good times!!?

This made me laugh out loud @gbballfan21! ?

Now that is some gamesmanship.
