Nice run for the Cards now after trailing 15-4 in is now tied at 17 after the Cards are on 13-2 run of their own. 

The Bearcats led the Cards 32-28 at the half. This is 15 points below their lowest half this year and they only had 7 FG's in the first half.

I'm guessing this is the Heritage Bank Centers dry run to impress the NCAA that they are worthy of hosting some first and second round March Madness games.

I do believe that it seats slightly more that 5/3, but this game would be more fun in one of the home arenas.

The Ville wins 74-64.

Ryan Conwell was the man tonight.

Good game for Louisville because they were not in control the whole way.  But the fought through it and got the win.

Coach Kelsey after the game called all the Louisville fans that traveled up there the portable Yum.

Looking a stat sheet, the Cards won the game at the free throw line.

We were gonna check out Holy Grail, but it looked pretty packed. We went with Tom’s Watch Bar instead.

Louisville fans always traveled well to 5/3 Arena when they used to play in Clifton longer ago. If I wasn’t away from home, I would have went to tonight’s game.

Not the easiest 8.5 cover though. Cards are vulnerable if they shoot below 40% and 30%.  But shooting above 80% from the stripe will help a lot.

It was a great test for them, they needed it. 

First game away from the Yum Center against a tough defensive squad in UC. Once they settled in, they were in control, which was pretty much the entire second half. They also got nothing at all from McKneely, their best three point shooter. 

They will need more consistency from the front court, both offensively and defensively. Fru is still adjusting to the American game and Pryor is still pretty far off from his max returning from his injury. 

Overall I was very satisfied with how the game turned out. 

I can remember watching Louisville and UC play in that arena during the Conference USA tournament 2-3 years before they departed for the Big East. The  Conference USA tournament was a pretty big success that year for everyone coming to watch their teams. UC ended up winning that game and Louisville made the Final Four the next year losing to Illinois.  Plenty of memories watching Louisville play UC in basketball during the past at 5/3 Arena and Freedom Hall. I was kind of bummed when they stopped playing, I always enjoyed their games.
