NCC will make the trip to Campbellsville for the third year in a row for a Region Championship… The Breds come in riding a 7 game win streak and are hitting their stride at the right time… The Eagles come in on a 10 game win streak and seem to be clicking…. This game will be a physical contest… Both teams feature top notch running games and equal strength in the passing game on offense and both defenses are stingy… Who gets the Region Crown in 2025???

  • Big shout out to Newport football team for allowing the Breds to use their field for practice today. Each team practiced on one side of the field. Class act by Newport.

I've seen a few of their games this year, and those three, plus a few others, have done a fantastic job blocking for Bivens and Miles.

Campbellsville ripped NCC’s heart out last year in a wild finish. That NCC locker room would love nothing more than to avenge that loss and take the regional back to NKY. But I think Campbellsville is a serious contender to get to Kroger Field so I’m taking the Eagles in another close one

New Cath has had Campbellsville on the ropes in this matchup 2 years in a row to fall just short. I expect Campbellsville to come out with a statement in this one. Give me Campbellsville 42-17.

This would shock me.  I honestly think this is a one touchdown game.

Well the perfect weather for football season comes to an end Night across much of the Commonwealth as rain will be falling for the majority of games, as of now. NewCath has been a running team all year, and why not when you have a back like Eddie Bivens. Give him the ball 5 times or 50 times and he is going to run as hard as possible on every carry.  The passing game has shown flashes of being exceptional all year, but the ground is the where the Breds will be concentrating on, especially since Miles doesn't mind tucking and running.

The Breds have seen so many top notch teams this year that I can't doubt them in this one. They could have tucked their tails between their legs and folded after the way the first qtr of the year started. They have seen what it looks like and takes to get where they want to go.

I think #2 Bivens and #3 Miles keep them competitive but #7 Stevie, #17 Messmer and #6 Shirmer prove to their teammates that they can be counted on and find a way to make a big impact at some point in this one.

Give me the Breds 22-21.

Great pickup. I’ve been very impressed with the down field blocking of the WRs this year. I always remember hearing Jerry Rice saying he enjoyed blocking down field as much as catching the ball. A lot of kids hear they should block as a WR on run plays but not to many embrace it. These guys have so far this year.

Never thought we’d have to worry about a lightning delay in the 3rd round of the playoffs but there is a chance tonight. Good luck to both teams. Safe travels.

7-0 Cville.

14-0 Cville, defensive takeaway and return for a TD.

?? Halftime ~
