I believe it was #10 Donato that caught the TD pass.

Sorry Mixlr crew said Tilley.

I apologize for not knowing the names or even expressing this properly, but it touched me last night and I wanted to share.  This is what it’s all about — this picture.  QB was hurt, out for the rest of the last game of the season.  Multiple coaches came to the kid, sat with him.  Hugging. Talking.  Caring.  Encouraging.  Like I said, I can’t put the right words to it but I felt it showed the best side of the coach/player relationship at the high school level.

That's WV quarterback Avery Howe. Senior. Last night was the last game of his football career.

And that's an EXCELLENT post @FatNate. Totally agree. Thanks for sharing!

He is a great young man, and feel so bad he got hurt while trying to make a play happen for his team.

The play he got hurt on tells you everything you need to know about that young man's desire, competitive spirit and toughness. Scramble out of the pocket, being tackled, another BW defender coming in his face to lay a hit, he throws the ball as he is going down and completes the pass. Great courage and desire.

Best wishes for a full and fast recovery from the injury.

Have to give a shout out to Jim Hyder who is retiring from coaching football after 40 years. Coach Hyder was the Head Coach at Newport, an assistant coach at Cooper during their first state run in 2012, and has been with Walton the past two years. Great coach and an even better man!
