I may be off a couple but, the NFL team with the second most missed tackles has 52 missed tackles. The Bengals lead the league with 81 missed tackles. That is how bad it is.

Can we get Mike Hilton to come in for a day and teach these guys how to tackle? Hilton was a fantastic one on one tackler. I loved watching him play. So savvy and fundamentally excellent.

While I definitely agree the scheme is an issue. I don’t agree it starts with the scheme. Only because it was a completely different scheme and coordinator last year, and the defense was horrible last year too. Which is how we ended up with this coordinator.
 

The issue starts with horrible drafting by Tobin and the front office. The bengals decided to pay their offense and draft the defense. Which is a solid idea, if you actually drafted well. Yet all these draft picks on defense the last few years, has given us a bunch of players who can’t rush the passer, and also can’t tackle. 

Murphy and Stewart are starting to remind me of the two OTs they drafted in hopes of replacing Big Whit.  Those moves set the franchise back years, and these picks could do the same.

This franchise rarely gives up on high draft picks early.  That means that those two guys will be starting next year.  Behind them will be the two current rookie LBs.  Those four guys will be playing next year.  If we don't see improvement the 2nd half of this season, it will be ugly again next year.  Golden was brought in because he can supposedly develop guys.  It's time to show it.

I would not be saying to much at this point in the season only the Cowboys and Bengals have a worst defense than the Steelers do. The Steelers are giving up just over 386 yards per game, the Cowboys just over 404 and the Bengals at 408. 

However the Steelers may be ranked 3rd from the bottom in yards allowed per game but hey they are #1 in having the highest paid defense in football at just over $93 million dollars. Looks like so far they are not getting much bang for their buck. lol

I am glad you can laugh at the truth I guess it is better than crying. If you don't believe me every sports show this past week is talking about how much the Steelers spent on the defense and that Tomlin is supposed be a defensive coach and they have spent the most of any team in NFL history and this is the results they have been getting. They only have 2 sack total the last two games and have given up 34 points per game.

Those very ones who are leading right now the worst division in football and in 10 days could very well be 4-5. Heck they are -3.5 at home to the Colts add in the supposedly 3 point for being the home team that is almost a touchdown underdog. The game at Chargers they are 5 point underdog. Still have to play the Bills and Ravens twice. Also, throw in the Bengals who they have not defeat in over a year. lol
