Hazard comes into this matchup after a tough loss to rival Pikeville 24-6. Hazard is in desperate need of a win to boost its momentum for a nice playoff run. The Bulldogs sits at 4-5 on the season now and hope to try to make it to .500. Somerset has been an absolute machine since dropping the first game of the season to South Laurel. The Briar Jumpers have reeled off 8 straight wins and haven’t given up more than 16 points in a game since. They haven’t scored under 35 points as well. These two teams haven’t played since 2022. Hazard won that matchup 30-13. Somerset holds a big edge in this all time matchup, but per scoreboard since 2006 Somerset holds a 8-5 edge. Does Somerset put that win total out to 9?

Who wins this 1A vs. 2A Battle? Can Hazard get a win to hopefully change its season around? Does Somerset continue its dominance to finish the regular season 9-1?

This always seems to be a good game. For years I kinda thought these two programs were kinda mirror images of each other.

As Bac said Somerset holds a big edge in the all time series, 22-9-3.  But, since it was renewed in 2006, it is only 8-5.  Hazard is a tough place to play, and the Bulldogs need a win badly.  Somerset's defense has been great since they struggled against South Laurel in the opener.  The first team has only allowed 5 touchdowns since that game.  The running game has been excellent with Hughes at quarterback and Cimala lined up behind him.  And they can throw it when they need to, so you can't just put 8 in the box.  They become even more dangerous if dynamic freshman Xavier Wooldridge is able to come back this week.  I think Hazard will come ready to play and put up a good fight, but Somerset's defense proves to be the difference.  Give me the Briar Jumpers 31-14.

I just saw that this evening. I had to work Friday night, so I didn't get to watch or listen to the game.  They didn't get the stats posted until today.  Glad to see him back. He's a difference maker on both sides of the ball.  2 rushes for 45 yards and 2 touchdowns, and went 1 for 1 passing.
