Wasn’t it bases loaded? If we are talking about the same play. I’m talking about the 8-6-2 “ground out” double play that should have actually been a home run I think. It hit the outfielders glove then hit the yellow line. Isn’t that a home run? They threw it home and got the force out then the catcher ran to third and got the force there.

So I read an article about it. I have zero baseball rules knowledge that’s why I was so confused last night. This whole sequence I didn’t know the rules.

1: Bases loaded 1 out ball hit to the wall and the center fielder keeps it in play. As soon as the ball hits his glove runners who have tagged up can run to the next base.

2: Since the ball hits off the wall it’s not a catch, so the runners don’t have to tag, they have to play it like it’s a hit, thus the batter would’ve been safe at first if the runners advanced.

3: The catcher obviously knew it was a force at any base bc he had his right foot on home plate and didn’t even blink when the runner from 3rd slid in.

4) The catcher is smarter than a lot of us bc he just gradually jogged down to 3rd for the 2nd force out. 
 

As the announcers said last night, they haven’t seen this scenario in 19 years of calling games. To the Left field umpires credit he signaled safe right away, and Dave Robert’s didn’t argue after the explanation. Crazy crazy double play.

Dodgers are up on the Brewers 2-1 in the top of the 2nd. The Brewers got a run in the bottom of the first and the Dodgers pick up two runs in the top of the 2nd.

Dodgers take a commanding 2-0 series lead in the NLCS with 5-1 win last night. Dodger pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto threw the rare complete game in the win. He gave up a first inning solo homer and only gave up 2 hits the rest of the game. They are up 2-0 with Ohanti having a terrible series I think he 1-7 in this series and for the playoffs is he is 4-34 and in just the NLDS and NLCS he is 2-25 .080 with no homers and only 1 RBI and has struck out 12 times. To show how good and deep the Dodgers are they are now 5-1 in those games.

ALCS resumes tonight with the Blue Jays at Mariners. The game is set for a 8:08pm first pitch and is on FS1.

You are correct when you reference “rare complete game”.

3 - 1 Dodgers just entering the bottom of the 7th.

Dodgers take Game 3, 3 - 1.   Commanding 3 games to none lead in the NLCS.

Mariners led 1-0 over the Blue Jays in the bottom of the 2nd.

Blue Jays have now taken the lead on the Mariners 3-1 in the top of the 3rd.

4 - 1 Jays with 1 out in the top of the 4th

5 - 1 BlueJays entering the home 4th.
