For several years, I have felt that the All A Classic could use some minor realignment to make up for the inequity in the size of the various regions. Some regions have around a dozen teams ... some have just four or five participants.

 

One other suggestion would be to group all of the Louisville schools into one region. With some exceptions, the 6th and 7th generally don't produce very good teams in this tournament. Grouping them together would probably improve the state tournament field's overall strength.

Maybe since the All A is organized by someone other than the KHSAA they might use common sense to create the possibility of "an even stronger field". The KHSAA realignment did just the opposite for the Sweet 16...

The integrity of the regions shouldn't be compromised. If you play in a region with a lot of big schools, it balances it out for you if there are only four or five teams to compete against for the ticket to the All "A" Classic.

Why not just take all A schools, start in the west and divide them into regions six or seven teams to a region to balance it out. Since district tourney's are not played in All A you don't have to have to KHSAA alignment. As it is some regions have 10 or 11 "A" size schools while some only have 4 or 5.
