I think it was a neat idea that has become muddied a bit.

Do the Augusta's and Silver Groves of the world have a shot at this crown with the likes of Brossart in the field?

At least Lex Cath recognized they had outgrown it and decided to skip it back in the day.

You act like Brossart has won every year the past 30 years. They have 1 count that 1 All "A" title. Many other teams have many more. Should they kick UHA out?

This is not a rant against Brossart and trying to diminish their accomplishment.

I just think the whole idea that Steidel had years ago has become the elephant in the room.

Teams that are very good and will compete for the region crown, playing down so to speak.

It's been a little while since LexCath was eligible for the All "A"?? I take it you weren't rooting for the Mustangs this weekend?? Hopefully they will remember your kind words come districts!!

Scoring margin with Brossart really isn't that big of a deal because their style of play is going to keep the scores low.

FYI--Brossart's enrollment in grades 10-12 is about 300!!

 

 

that is about the size that the tournament was meant for...Bubba knows what the early directors had in mind. Of Course they needed the backing of Valvoline and some big supporters to make it work, but now...it might better to reduce the enrollment figures to give the true All A schools like Brossart a better chance....no way it can survive without the privates......although that is another can of worms altogether......maybe if they keep winning these things.....something will change.

So small schools like Holy Cross, St Henry and Brossart dont get an advantage later on in the year because they have played on a big stage like this?

? Brossart has about 300 coed students. They work hard every day and therefore can compete with and beat much bigger schools. UHA has won the All A seven times. This is Brossart's first. Again, what makes "the likes of Brossart" different from UHA, Gallatin, Bardstown or New Cath?
