Rose Hill 51 East Carter 47

Featured Replies

I am going to say this one last time, it was a poor called game. No consistency. A good example of tonights game was that they let the play become physical then all of sudden began calling ticky tack fouls and not against RH, it was against Deerfield of East, she had four fouls in less then two minutes, the only explanation is that unless Hagar told the officials and Deerfield both to foul to put RH in the bonus...if this is not the case I will stick to my theory about poor officiating. Deerfield had touch fouls compared to what was going on out there. Maybe Deefield told ref she was going to foul or something???

I think you hit the nail on the head with the last sentence in your post. East was trying to put the Lady Royals on the line to try and get back in the game.

For the record...when RH took the ball out of bounds with maybe 7 seconds on the clock and Terry got butchered when she caught the ball, was anything called?

By the way, I do want to say that Rose Hill is a very talented team and played a great game tonight. I think that was lost in all the bickering that has taken place tonight/this morning (and I accept responsibility for that). Emily Queen is the most dominant player in this region. Laura Terry has one of the prettiest jump shot I have ever seen, Britt Faulkner handles defensive pressure very well and also distributes the ball well. Adkins hit a couple of big jump shots early in this game and Abbey Dundon grabbed several lose balls.

Rose Hill may have a losing record, but they have one of the best teams in this region and will make some noise come March. Congrats on a nice victory. East is a good team and are tough to beat at home. And the Rose Hill fans do a great job cheering for their team.

Good luck during the rest of the season and I am looking forward to doing a story on Emily, who will be breaking the 16th Region scoring record soon. I think she only needs about 36 points or so to surpass former Miss Kentucky Basketball Penny Gearhart. And Laura Terry is only about 11 points or so from scoring her 2000th career point.

If you say so. I don't remember the play in question, but I will defer to your memory of the game and interpretation of a foul. We will not agree on the quality of the officiating during the game and so I decline any further discussion. I have already said enough and don't want to argue any longer. Can we just agree to disagree?

Maybe you can join Bubba and I for lunch and we can discuss it later.

I couldn't agree more. I hope Emily gets some serious consideration for Miss Basketball. She is an awesome all-around player that can play any position.

Queen:18 pts, 6/12 (includes 1/1 3ptr), 5/7 free throws, 13 rebs,

Terry: 11 pts, 3/10 (includes 2/3 3 ptrs), 3/5 free throws, 6 rebs,

Faulkner: 16 pts, 7/18, 2/5 free throws, 2 rebs, 6 asts

Adkins: 4 pts, 2/2

Dunden: 2 pts, 1/4, 4 rebs

Friley, Gambill: 1 reb ea

15 turnovers

4 Team Rebs

Clearly one of those "ugly" games, with coaches and fans on both sides upset over calls and no-calls. Give credit to East Carter for not quitting when they were down early and to the Lady Royals for having an answer when EC made runs at them.

Now that I've done my part, I yield the floor so that Big Bubba and GoRadio can resume their most artful and tasteful slugfest...soon to become a food fest at a local eatery somewhere between Ashland and Olive Hill.:D

Would you like to join us for the food fest himmel? Good seeing you at the game last night, were those earbuds in your ears or do you really need to visit the barbershop???

I was not at the game, but it is a big win for Rose Hill. It sure does get tiring to read the constant anti-Rose Hill officiating comments. Take your win and be happy. GoRadio has established himeslf as being a very reliable and unbiased source on the conduct of games and I will gladly accept his account of the game. Maybe some need to grow up and accept that refs call the games aw well as they can. They miss a few and they get most right. Good teams accept that and play through adverse calls. Give the Rose Hill kids credit. They did that and maybe the adults need to do the same.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Bogey! You too are invited to the food fest!

Coach Easterling after the game, "the officials called the game a little lose, which favored Rose Hill tonight, but that had nothing to do with either team winning or losing the game. This was a hard fought, physical game between 2 good teams. Give Rose Hill credit, they just beat us, no excuses, they were just the better team tonight."

As much as I would enjoy the fellowship and spirited conversation with you and Big Bubba...I do not want to be between the two of you when food is around.:D

And yes, you caught me listening. It was worth fighting with those cheap earphones last night. Good job...to both of you.:thumb:

And speaking of the barbershop, how much did you pay that guy that got hold of you?!!;)

Thanks for the compliment!

Then quit reading it. Because until it changes, I will keep writing it. It is true that the refs are going to miss some calls, both ways. But some things are just obvious, Emily Queen is a physical player but she gets hacked all the time and refs just wont call it. It reminds me alot of how Shaq gets hammered and the refs wont call it, I listened to several NBA officials interviewed about Shaq and they claim he is the hardest player to officiate game with. Why? Because he is physical. Just because an offensive player initiates the contact doesnt mean you dont call a foul when the defense hacks her, and if the defense draws the charge then call that too.

I could present some hard core facts about this theory, not rumors, nor hear say but facts, but I am almost positive it would not be allowed to be posted and thats okay, this doesnt apply to all refs. Not all refs have an agenda some actually call a good game. Unbiased Consistency is what it is about.

GoRadio will even agree that most of the time it is not consistent. As for the Anti-RH, I'm sure that he will not agree with that. If you are so hung up on GoRadio's game account then maybe I should be more childish and back out of lunch and you can grow up and join him

I was not at the game, but I did listen to it on the net. I guess the anouncer is GoRadio and if so, please accept my conpliments. There was several times you commented that fouls should have been called, but the ref may have seen it otherwise. One of the times was this particular play. You said you felt Terry was fouled, but the ref, you called him by his first name, saw it differently. This was the same play that Britt received a T for. By your own post you admit Britt told the ref to "call something."

I know you have seen a lot of basketball as have I. I have heard a lot more and a lot worse said by players to refs and nothing done. I believe this may support the conspiracy theory.

Bubba, I thought we had agreed to disagree! Can't we all just get along! I actually don't agree with much of what you just posted, but you are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine. Nuf said by me!

First of all, thanks for the kind words and thanks for listening. I appreciate that very much. I do remember the play in question now and do feel Terry was probably fouled, but deferred to one that was closer to the play than was I. As far as the "T" on Britt, I know for a fact that she and Coach Euton were warned about her comments directly to the officials. I agree that I have heard much worse said, but most officials have a breaking point and apparently she crossed a line. I know this is not the first time she has been "T'd up" this season and sadly, probably won't be the last. I will agree to disagree with you about the conspiracy theory. I just don't see it, but if you do, I will respect your opinion.
