I was making a very general comment and in no way meant to imply every single Rose Hill fan. However, it does seem that several people like to get on here and post how they feel that Rose Hill gets a raw deal. As posted by GoRadio, the girls game has changed over the last several years, and that is in part thanks to players like Queen, and Terry. That is a definite compliment to them. I just think that if you are going to play a physical style of play, then you can not get upset, when the other teams adapts to that same physical style of play. If your player can beat and bang down low, you can only expect the same from the opposing team. That is what makes us better basketball players when it is all said and done. I think we should all agree that the officiating in the 16th region could improve, but I do not think it is terrible all of the time. Everyone has a bad day at work from time to time. I do think Rose Hill is a great team and they will be fine the reast of the season, and I wish them all of the best!

Funny Himmelfarb but GoRadio will probably get offended...now back to the game.

Raider95, lets be honest here, East dont have a player that can play physical with Queen, Terry, or Faulkner. This is not disrespect, this is truth. I am not griping about the physcial part of the game, if East played physical then so what, hats off to them. There is a difference between physical and dirty. I will say this about the 16th Region officials they do a great job of blowing the whistle on RH when they see them play dirty. Hats off to you Refs! But my point is that when other teams are stiff arming, holding jerseys, then call them for the foul as well. I have no gripe or complaint about opposing teams playing hard and physical. My gripe is the dirtyness (is this a word?) that opposing teams play.

Most of everyone that reads this thread has missed my main point. Most have focused on the "Conspiracy" part of my post. My main point is that if the officials do not clean this region up early in most games then sooner or later a "Kid", "Player" is going to suffer a real career ending injury. I am not just talking about RH games, I am talking about any game that is played.

They (Officials) must set the tone early in the game and stick with it, they can still let them play a little physical but when the cheap shots take place call the foul then threaten them with an ejection if it happens again. I dont know of any other way to explain. I hope this was made simple enough and understood that it is more than a RH thing, it is a player/injury thing.

Boyd vs. Raceland ring any bells, players in that game had their bells rung that is for sure.

Joe Billman coming strong in that picture...

Himmelfarb, you have had too much time on your hands today. Those pics are hilarious.

I may be mistaken about this but I am pretty sure that a Raceland player just about got her nose broke. If I am wrong about the two teams then I apologize.

Well, I've read all the comments and would like to make a couple of observations.

I attended the game and it was in my opinion poorly officiated and not well played by either team. Nonetheless, it was a good road win for the Lady Royals under tough conditions.

It was not that the refs favored either team, but they just called the game very inconsistently. Often times they would let too much physical contact go on with no call, and other times they would call a foul for the slightest touch. Totally inconsistent, and that is the most frustrating type of refereeing to both coaches and players.

I agree with "Scooterbob" in that both teams played ragged and made too many turnovers and poor decisions. I got the feeling the game was getting too physical to where the refs had little control and someone was going to get injured. This is not good refereeing IMO. The refs need to improve their skills and work to do a better job, just like the players do.

Also, it was evident Laura Terry was ill and well below par for her. She is still struggling with some physical problems. Her breathing was visibly labored early on in the game and she had to take continued breaks.

I believe when she gets back to her normal healthy self, you will see a much improved Lady Royal team and hopefully that will come soon.

No offense taken here, I really like Joe Billman!

My only question is why is himmel taking pictures of Joe????

Gathering evidence for the conspiracy????? HAHAHAHAHA

There's the statement of the day! I heard it was ugly.

Do you want to know why this particualr game was played ugly, sloppy, ragged?

Did you ever play in a physical dirty game before?

Billman is an excellent 16th region official. Many in the old guard of officiating in this region are great.

Still see a striking difference though in how a game is managed with a 3 man crew, compared to 2 man. Seems to have more issues with 3 man this season. I'm sure that when tournament time comes, the BEST officials will get in and games will be conducted to the best of ability and it will be fair.
