#77, T Scott for Elder is a Beast! Looked him up and he’s committed to WKU.

6’3 300lbs Senior.

When they needed yards, Elder almost always ran off his block. That, or they ran the QB on a delayed draw.

  • I am calling this a moral victory for the Colonels.  Good job CCH.

It's VERY commonplace to have phantom or sketchy calls at The Pit, especially in close games.  You would be amazed how many Cincy officials are Elder Grads.

  • - Elder played well and this was a toss up. Great sign for Cov Cath, probably not great for Elder. A lot of grit shown by the Colonels.  - Cash and Gaiser were pretty easily the two most dynamic

That call wasn't phantom at all. I was sitting at the 45 in the stands on the Cov Cath side and there were a half dozen people around me who saw it. There was a DB closing in fast with a good angle on Cash and he got hit from behind right at the 10 yard line by Gaiser. From our angle it looked like Elder's DB probably would have knocked Harney out of bounds at about the 5 yard line. For sure Gaiser wishes he could have that one back, but that kinda stuff happens in the moment, unfortunately.

I can assure you that you are wrong.  It’s a no call.  Dylan’s head is in front and across the defenders body when he contacts him.

- Estep is a smooth operator at QB for Elder. Easy to see why G5s are interested. If Elder has a non D1 QB, they are getting beat tonight.

- The bar is low, but our passing game looked much improved. I think Eddie had to call more dropback after last week and Cash looked more comfortable and his arm is more than ok.

- The guys competed - I thought 55 Tucker Evans in particular -  but Cov Cath needs like 2 or 3 more big bodies on the line to rotate in and try to keep guys fresh. Shows in games like this and Ryle.

Gotta give credit where credit is due. The Colonels hung in and went  neck and neck with a powerhouse Elder football team.

Only scoring a FG on the first drive after a 97 yard KOR and then have a 50 yard TD getting called back are things that’ll cost you a game when you’re playing a powerhouse program like Elder. Margin of error is small when you’re up against a team like Elder.

But hell of an adjustment by Coach E to go more 11 personnel and 10 personnel against Elder’s 3-4 front.

3-4 defense matches up really against 12 personnel which was shown in the first half. and it’s very vulnerable against 11 and 10 personnel which we saw in the 2nd half.

Colonels are going to be alright. Gotta get the run defense figured out. Elder had over 180+ rushing yards.

3 of 4 top CovCath tacklers were guys in the secondary.  Whatever side Elders QB roll to they did a great job blocking the edge. The flat was open 10+ yards in most cases.

CovCath has to look for Bradshaw more downfield. Didn’t get targeted until the 4th quarter. Cash made some really nice throws tonight!

Not being able to punched it in for those two TDs (got the FGs instead) was the huge difference.  Get those TDS then the ballgame would have been at least tied 28-28.

Elder had 1 turnover on downs and missed the FG in the 4th quarter.  CovCath only had the INT in the 4 quarter on their last drive.

Once CovCath makes a few more adjustments they have a very good chance to go deep into the 4A playoffs.

This is a ridiculous comment. If you go to the Pit you better be ready to play. Just as many calls went against Elder.  Come on man…..just be glad CCH kept it close.

No “could have, should have, would have’s” in The Pit. You want a W there, you have to go in and take it.

Easier said than done.

4A goes through Ft. Thomas.

Maybe. They have a worse coaching staff than both Cov Cath and Boyle. They also aren't as talented at the skill positions as both of them.

Better hope the OL is truly dominant.

Anybody know what that white thing is on the back of his helmet behind the number 5? I saw three or four kids on the Cov Cath sideline with these on their helmets tonight.

It’s their mouthpiece. Since most kids don’t use a strap these days. Best way to keep it without having it in their mouth I guess.

I don't know what I was expecting that to be, but it definitely wasn't a mouthpiece ?

That "moment" shouldn't occur when you're a senior.
