Yes, mainly because he is essentially the only TE can both be good receiving TE, and also block some. Geiski and Hudson are mainly just receiving TE's and can't block at all. Sample and Grady are simply blocking TE's and no real threat as a receiver. Erik All could do both, but he he is out with that bad knee injury last year. 

To me the TE's to make it that are locks are: Sample, Geiski, and Fant. Grady and Hudson would fight it out for the 4th spot, if the Bengals choose to only keep 4 TE's.

Ridder is a practice squad QB at best, ugh.

I wish the organization would have saved any money spent on Fant so it would be available to help sign an offensive lineman, specifically a guard — even more specifically — Risner.  Most agree we have top three QB in the game — future hall of gamer.  Don’t we have enough weapons for him?  We didn’t need Fant when we signed him, especially when you consider some the holes on the offensive line and defense.

Ugly D once again.  Have the Bengals cornered the market on this speciality?
