Ooooh he said she said, I like it. During the Mueller era this would not of been an even or slightly even matchup. Since then I could see it as a very even matchup.

Still wouldn’t be good matchup.

From mid/late 90’s thru 2000’s it was hard to find a better or bigger matchup throughout the entire mountains then Bell vs Rock. Every year the district was always decided between that game. Crowds we

Speaking to a major decision maker at Beechwood on this same subject this past week I beg the differ.

Highlands opted to play Scott County to fill out their schedule when the Beechies said no thanks.

There you go, that’s a typical fan from Fort Thomas for you.

Best of Luck Jack of All Trades AND “Master of None”.

I’d say during the Weinrich years first couple of Spire years Beechwood would’ve taken a couple.

In terms of the crowd size, Hopkinsville and Christian used to couldn't be matched. That large stadium used to be so packed. It still brings a decent crowd. In the old 4 class system, you could always count on it being a matchup featuring some of the best talent.

But as both programs have just slowly declined over the last 20 years, the game just doesn't have the same feeling at the state level to pay attention. And the powers that be have let those schools fall apart so that they could push consolidation, they've thrown away what was and still is the best event for this community, the Hoptown-County game in all sports. But that's another argument, I just think it's going to be sad that the big football stadium we built when I was in high school is going to be empty most nights as the community fully checks out.

Pikeville/Belfry has always been a great rivalry and looks to continue til judgment day. Good benefit for both teams.

Trinity vs St. Xavier and Male vs Manual will always be No. 1 and 2 in my mind.

Am excited to see DeSales-Holy Cross come back this fall after a six-year hiatus. Hope it stays on the schedule. All-time it's a 20-15 series lead favoring DeSales and the Colts won each of the last eight meetings (2011-2018).
