I couldn't care less about Mercer's "class size". There aren't many teams in 4A last year that had 92 players. I would also like to hear about the coaching staff with 20 coaches. All reasonable inquiries in my opinion.

I think if you investigated mercer's staff you would find they had a typical number of full time coaches. As with any winning program there are a number of want to be individuals that hang around and do odd jobs but are by no means actual coaches. coach jaggers being the kind of person he is probably tried to make some of the over flow feel a part of the team. I doubt seriously mercer had 20 paid coaches on staff.

Congratulations to Mercer and who cares how much their rings cost? They won the championship so it's up to them to decide what to get and what price they want to pay. As far as the numbers go you must not have paid much attention during the season. Mercer was rode extremely hard because they were actually a 4a team playing in 2a. However, they didn't decide to consolidate until it was too late to put them in 4a and re-align districts. Of course there were lots of people that said Mercer waited to consolidate on purpose so that the town could get another ring. I don't know that to be true or false! This year will be a different story however! I'm only stating the facts and not trying to stir anything up!

I will be so glad when the 2007 season gets here, so that some of this crap can be dropped.

Also, Mercer's 92 players are 9-12, and NO, they do not have 20 "coaches", or even close. I believe that they only have 8 paid coaches. Now, if one looked on the sideline on game nites, you would think that, but a good number of them were either statisticians and or middle school coaches.

Actually, you're not stating facts.They wouldnt have been 4A in the first place, at best they would have been an enrollment of a low-mid range 3A school. Im sure I can speak for all players, coaches and fans, though, when I say thank you for the initial congrats!:thumb:

You're exactly right, and they all recieved one!! Very deserving, Very!

I also question the 20 coaches. Trinity has half that many. Whats the story Mercer fans?

 

Off topic but I have a hard time believing that. When it comes to rings the guys that are on the coaching staff typicaly get them. That includes the guys that scout and everything else. I am sure Trinity's freshman coaches get rings and when you combine freshman and varsity you get close to 20 if not more. They had 5 scouts watching the Ryle game. You have a HC, DC and OC and more than likely a position coach.

I think we have a total of 17 coaches on staff....and everyone except Beatty has to pay for their rings....everyone.
