Mercer County Championship Rings

Featured Replies

I guess when you have so many to buy for (92 players and at least 20 coaches), you get a good discount on the price. $240.00 each.

This is a joke? Right?

I'm sure it has more to do with size and materials.

BTW, 92 players and 20 coaches??? Is that a record at a 2A school?

There were 3 different ring companies fighting for the bid. Balfour won. The basic ring (which is of great quality) ended up being $240.00 each. That is the amount that we need to raise for everyone involved. Everyone that wanted to upgrade their ring could pay the extra amount. Upgrades went to $360.00 or $600.00. Coach Jaggers has several championship rings and he will be the first to tell you that this championship ring will be the best one that he has. Of course, he was the one who picked them out.

I have been involved w/championship rings and the rings were never $240, always under $150(always great looking)and the Boosters took care of the cost. The kids could upgrade the rings to gold and then they were over $400. I would hope the ring committee did some calling around for prices. Someone is making a fortune.

3 companies had to put in the bid for the rings. It is my understanding that Balfour had the cheapest bid.

I wasn't on the commitee, but I did do some research. I agree, there are less expensive rings out there. They are a stock style and shape and you can do things to them to personalize them. The ring that the Mercer Players chose is a custom Superbowl sized ring. These things are huge and gaudy, a ton of material in them, but that is what the kids wanted. Actually after seeing what they were getting, I was pleased with the price.

I was pleased with the price and the ring. Very nice for high schoolers!

Every ring I have is customized, huge and gaudy w/a ton of material. They are the size, if not bigger, than a friend of mines AFL Championship ring and they still cost less than this $240. Do they have diamonds in them or what?

How is donating to a booster club tax deductible? Is the booster club a charity or non-profit organization?

I saw the Mercer Co. Championship Ring, it looks really, really outstanding.Had the word Titans on it.Awesome:ylsuper:

Something along those lines...

It was a legit question. Don't 2A schools have like a 400 or 500 students? Thats like 200 to 250 boys, right? so almost half the boys in the school are on the football team? I also question the 20 coaches. Trinity has half that many. Whats the story Mercer fans?
