I would suspect from what I heard that this is a case where the family thinks he will get more college exposure on the recruiting trail by playing in Ohio but you are right, there is a tremendous amount of College Exposure with the program at the moment between Merz, Lorenzon, the Benke Boys and several others. I just saw that the Benke's pulled in their second D1 offer from EKU and I would expect this trend continues. The Birds are loaded with D1 talent and the connections on the college circuit run deep so I would imagine there will be a lot of College Coaches visiting Fort Thomas on Friday Nights for the foreseeable future. I read somewhere that he did pull his first offer from Glenville State so hopefully everything works out for the young man.

If you are a good player and are actively putting yourself out there like going to camps, teams will find you. Does not matter where you go.

I'm confused on this one as well. In his position I don't feel like Anderson is an upgrade over Highlands for recruiting or chasing a state title. Tons of college exposure. For some other kids in NKY that transfered to Anderson and some other Ohio schools I can't knock them for it. But this one is kind of wierd.

Anderson was State Runner Up for Division II last year. Dreyer has done an amazing job over there. Winning a state title is not easy no matter where you go. The family thinks this is what is best for the kid, especially since junior year is the year you start racking up the D1 offers. But at the end of the day, I am a firm believer that if you are a good ball player, schools will find you!

Why is there so much discussion about a kid who chose to go elsewhere.  Wish him well and move on.  I guess bashing the kid and program makes some feel good.

100% fact.  Biggest thing coaches are looking for are body frame and footwork.  All about leverage in the college game.

We are not bashing the kid. I am just saying that if you are good enough teams will find you.

Do Highlands and Ryle scrimmage this year?  In the Ryle thread we show a scrimmage between the two teams on 8/12 but the graphics here in the Highlands thread only show a scrimmage against Male on 8/8 and the Blue/White night on 8/15?

Highlands and Ryle do have a game at Highlands on 9/19.

I probably should not have quoted you.  Realized my mistake after I submitted post.
