GRC vs Ashland

Featured Replies

Ashland has no one who can guard Knowles; they may need to try some sort of junk defense.

Biggs has the advantage of knowing Clark County very well. If anyone in the 16th has a chance against Clark, it's Ashland for that very reason.

I'll say Clark 72, Ashland 64

I worry bout all the fouls that may be called on the Cards. From what I have heard of the 16th region ref they called it tighter than the 10th region do. Anyone have any insight into this?

Personally I feel the officiating in the 16th is pretty poor, its inconsistent at best. You will have kids getting killed in the paint with no whistle, but the slightest bump on the perimeter draws a foul.

I know officiating is a TOUGH job. But I don't think consistancy is too much to ask. It is very tough on the players and coaches when they are not sure what a foul is.

Agreed!

Welcome to the site BUDDYBALLFAN. I hope Coach Biggs is around for a while for the sake of your nickname !

Hope you people in the 16th enjoy watching the Cards as much as we do here in the 10th. Fun team to watch. GRC not only has Knowles, but Jones who is a beast in the center. Rogers and Woods are both great defensively, and give us points when they are needed, they are all seniors. Then you have 8th grader Stenzel who can play just about any position. We have 2 subs that will not play due to injuries, Bennett and Bailey. We get strong play from our bench with usually everyone seeing action.

Well Thank You MB. Im sure he will be around alot longer than me!

My boys are seniors!

Well tell them to enjoy it, I was a senior not too many years ago.

I wonder if the crowd will be as rowdy as they were during the RH game?

If you thought the Rose Hill Game was Rowdy you havnt seen ANYTHING yet. And everyone who went to the Boyd or East Carter game will agree with me. McDavid and company are playing some solid basketball right now, and I think the Buddy system is taking hold. Ashland plays their best game of the year, and right now Anderson Gymnasium is one of the last places Id want to play.

From what I hear Ashland has 6 men at all times,

Yoter

Agreed!

Well, that explains the recent stretch of cold weather.:D

What's wrong with Bennett and Bailey? Will they be missing extended time?

Bennett hurt his hand in the Male game, he has a cast on and will be evaluated by the Dr in 2 weeks. Bailey hurt his ankle and is in a boot and has been for a couple of weeks.

Humphrey seems to have Ashlands number right now. I really like Scott and respect him as a coach. He has really proven himself. I haven't seen Clark play but I know they will be tough. I think Ashland will be excited about this game. The crowd, especially the students, should really be primed. If I understand correctly, Ashland is going to retire Brandon Webb's jersey sometime during the evening. It is supposed to be a baseball themed evening from the students. It should be a fun night for basketball. The 'Cats may be ready to pull an upset. Ashland 72-71.
