Bowling Green 31 South Warren 28

Heck of a game.
Congrats South on great season!

Purples survive and advance!

Go Purples!

Ole BillNye gets one right occasionally. Weird way to get to 31-28 but I’ll take it! Going to enjoy the big win for a night but have to lock in for Purples-Jags The Trilogy

Every three years went by the wayside tonight. Congratulations to Bowling Green.

Had alot to do tonight.  Just now getting back to this.

For South Warren, Bryce Button played his tail off man.  The kid just made play after play.  Had some balls dropped that shouldn't have been, but I really think that was the cold weather having its impact on the game.

Colton Veltcamp and Kayden York also played super for South Warren.  They had a great season.

They had to control all the stats in this game.  I mean can you EVER remember a game where one team had ZERO offensive plays in the first quarter?  Much less led the other team when doing so!!!!  Just a crazy game.

For Bowling Green, it really wasn't really pretty.  BUT you are playing your rival who knows you better than anyone else.  Thought BG just kept the pedal down.  And kept playing hard all the way through.  And the defense really came through when BG needed it most.  And the Deuce Bailey run on 4th and 8 late in the game was clutch!  You've heard defense wins championships, but they came through for BG tonight, even though South had a very good game.  As they are a very good team.

Really thankful to be moving on with another chance at the Big One this Saturday against an ultra-talented Cooper squad.

Enjoy and appreciate this Purples fans!  It's not guaranteed.

Just a great rivalry game!  These games are really tough to predict.  I'm not talking about the scores; I'm talking about how the plays are called and what strategies work and what adjustments are made.  I mean 2 straight kickoff returns and BGs offense doesn't take the field in the 1st Quarter.  Unpredictable.

Glad these two will still play going forward even though they will not be in the same districts/classifications anymore.

That's an understatement, lol!

That's also a big reason why it's the best rivalry in the state. When you expect a zig, they usually zag.
