You're saying golfers don't move their legs in golf.

Tiger Woods may be one of the best 'in shape' people in the world.

Golfers have to use their legs to push off and drive the ball. That's where they generate much of their power.

Golf is a sport.

Golfers are athletes.

At least the one's that can play are athletes imo, (but I don't fit that category....golf is a hobby for me, not a profession.)

And John Daly may be one of the worst! :D

It is the hardest sport to play if you think about it. QUOTE]

HARDEST?????

#1. No screaming fans yelling, booing, etc.

#2. If it rains or snows - you quit playing & wait till its pretty. :sssh:

#3. Players CAN'T affect another players outcome on defense.

#4. No PHYSICAL contact.

#5. You hardly break a sweat.

#6. Not much strategy. You put the ball in the hole as quick as possible.

Golf is a game.

I like it, play sometimes, drive often.

It is difficult to get good at.

But it isn't hard to play.

If your comment is aimed at playing it to a high level of success, I would say there is a lot of professionals chasing Tiger Wood that would disagree with you. I find it much easier to shoot a 3-pointer than I do hitting a 9-iron 150 yards and within 3 feet of the hole.

Also...on the question of Golf being a sport.......

How much training does a golf player need?

Not PRACTICE. Plenty of practice is needed... but physical training.

Like working on his endurance, breathing, weight training, running sprints, suicides, running routes, perfecting timing, developing teammate cohesiveness?

Nah....

Or the fact that you don't even have to carry your own clubs for crying out loud.

hahahahahaha....

How much did David Wells train? How about Jim Breech? How about Fernando Valenzuela, Sean Casey, and Dmitri Young?

Good point. The guys you mention are really "athletic."

So, the question now is...."Is baseball a sport?"

I'll take Tiger in a foot race against David Wells any day of the week..

How about Kicker's in football? How about some of the football players? Dan Marino wasn't a great athlete but was a heck of a football player. Some of the big guys are awkward and uncoordinated, slow and fat, yet they are still "athletes"......

David Wells and Dmitri Young are out of shape, no doubt.

So they can DEFINATELY play golf. :thumb:

Pitchers don't do much but pitch.

Everyone else on the team fields, runs, hits, etc.

But even when they hit the baseball, they still had to RUN.

You NEVER, EVER have to run in golf.

You don't even jog alittle.

:D :D

You just simply don't break a sweat unless it is a hot day.

What's your point? You don't run is discus or shot put EVER! You don't run in skiing, snowboarding, or boxing.
